Joy Mangano needs to check facts before presenting
Watching Joy Mangano today was painful. She made a seriously misinformed statement. I don’t want to say "stupid", but geez it was very painful to listen to. She said that candles have been around for hundreds of years. What in the world?! No Joy, the fact is that candle-making and usage has been around for THOUSANDS of years. In fact ancient Egyptians invented it.
I know many HSN viewers and consumers may not care. I mean it is not revelent if the item is bought or not. But if you speak please check facts first, especially when the spotlight is on yourself. Yes, I have nothing else to do but watch Joy. So sad. And no I did not buy the wax melts. If you did, I hope you enjoyed your purchase.
I’m just expressing maybe even trolling/ranting here. Now I can go on with hording for the holidays. Just, cheese on a cracker, please self-edit Joy before you speak. ‘Merica!
That coupon has restrictions.
I get a good chuckle when Joy states she’s "possessed" with whatever item she’s pushing. She’s hilarious and definitely a one-woman act that does not need a host. Sometimes she gets so involved that her utterances become jumbled, with each word running into the other and is devoid of coherence.
You’re kidding? How many hundreds make a thousand? She said, "hundreds". Ten hundred make one thousand, hence hundreds??? Wanna get technical, they have been around since 200 B.C. (Of course, "made in China"!) Do you know what it takes to sell all the stuff she does? Give her a break!
Good heavens,,hundreds of years, thousands of years..Not much difference to anyone alive now..Has little to do with facts,,just generally speaking.
If you WRITE,please check facts first….it’s H-O-A-R-D-I-N-G.
Welcome to the Forum, Jessicake.
Yes I believe you are correct. Ancient Egyptians did use and might have invented candles.
However, as a presenter of a different product, I don’t think her intent was to give a history lesson. In conversational speech, her goal was to casually convey an idea of a much used item. In that sense, Joy was correct. She said hundreds of years. Many hundreds equal thousands and thousands Are hundreds.
