Did QVC acquire HSN?
I’ve heard that QVC acquired HSN. Did they and what does that mean for HSN’s customers? Will there be major changes? Is that why there isn’t any hurry to fix what’s going on in the Arcade? Most games aren’t loading on my iPad or my computer. By the looks of things it seems to be an HSN issue with so many people having the same issues. Then again is it because the Arcade could be eliminated because of the acquisition and maybe restructuring?
I know when QVC got rid of their Craft Shows it was then I moved permanently to HSN. I soon found out that HSN had Arts and Craft bundles that were hard to resist amongst other great deals. I’m hoping that things on HSN continue to progress and I’m happier that you have the Craft shows on more often. I hope that even though HSN is moving forward, things that I enjoy won’t be eliminated. I would have to move on as I did with QVC. Thanks for any information.
I read in my local NJ paper this past Sunday, (08/06/17) that QVC did/will acquire HSN. This is interesting for many reasons. HSN just finished celebrating 40 years and QVC the month before in June finished celebrating 31 years of being around. While I like each of them for very different reasons, I would have liked them to remain as separate entities to continue to foster the healthy competition. For example, I think QVC is great as far as their kitchen shows. I think they are untouchable in that area. However, HSN is great in their bedding collection-Concierge Collection and Highgate Manor and they don’t charge different prices for different sheets like QVC does which I hate. HSN offers 20% discount coupons to certain select customers. I think overall HSN’s line is better with the exception of their kitchen items-QVC has the upper hand. Well just have to wait and see what happens.
Based on the response I got from the Arcade Team when I asked about the return of Toy Chest and Monkey Gems, my suspicion is that they are working on preparing the entire Arcade for the demise of the Flash Player. (It’s set to phase out by 2020.) Looks like it will be replaced with something called HTML5. Some browsers are already blocking content that requires Adobe Flash.
Considering that one of the higher ups stated how important the Arcade was to bringing people to HSN’s site (given shortly before the potential stock deal was announced), I seriously doubt that HSN would discontinue it. With Tech changing so quickly, they seem to be trying to get ahead of the curve for a change.
You’re a little late. People have been discussing this for a month.
First of all QVC did NOT acquire HSN. THe parent company of QVC which already owned stock in HSN has now acquired HSN in an all stock deal.
It will not actually take place till around the 3rd quarter.
No one really knows what will be happening with the 2 channels. Well except the upper people who are in the know!
Can’t help with your Ipad. But for the desktops and laptops, it is NOT an HSN problem as such….it is more of a browser problem where Edge after the Creators Update no longer supports Flash. As these are Flash games, they are no longer able to load on Edge. ANd apparently Firefox….but saw one person say they were able to go back to an older version of Firefox.
Even though Edge says Flash is enabled,,,doesnt matter because it doesnt support Flash.
Best thing to do at this time is switch to Chrome or Internet Explorer. If they don’t work too well, try uninstalling them and reinstalling. That worked for me with Chrome. I did like Edge best, but between Chrome and IE I can play pretty well.
The Arcade Team is working on a fix for this but it is a major project. Some other websites have a “allow flash button” so flash will work on their site. Don;t know if thats what will happen here or not.
Some other things you can try” clear your cache every day or so…it really does help. And try going in thru HSN.com, not thru a favorite or bookmark.
Hope these things gets you playing again.
