I only watch Coin Collector on HSN but I assume everything else is as overpriced as the coins. They are selling silver bars for $12.00 over the spot price when you can buy them for much less. I bought a 10 oz. bar for $159.00 and they are selling them for $279.00. Look elsewhere people.
Watchdog2 in a sense you’re absolutely right. The mark-up on the coins is way above what you would pay from another source. It would take years even for the precious metal to increase your investment to a profit. Coins not minted in precious metal or of a limited mintage probably will never be of more value than what you paid for them and in most cases not even that. An example of a coin in precious metal purchased from a TV shopping channel in 1992 that was in .999 platinum was a Russian half ounce coin. The price paid in 1992 was $ 159 and today it’s with about $ 360 with precious metal content. That’s a span of over 24 years. It was worth more when platinum was up. If you’re in the market to buy promoted coins then get as a gift to pass on and not as an investment as hyped. The chances are you will never see a profit in your lifetime…..Ronnie
Precious metal like Gold and Silver has a market value that varies:)
Do you do your research on the actual prices of gold and silver that is where you can find the real value:)
