USPS tracking – good to know
If USPS tracking shows an item was delivered to you but you never received it, contact your local post office. They have access to additional tracking information that gives the GPS coordinates for the location where the item was scanned at delivery.
I recently bought something on eBay. I wasn’t monitoring the tracking from the point of shipment. On 6/16 I checked it, and the tracking showed it was delivered to me on 6/11. After I called the post office, it was discovered that the item was actually delivered to an address that has my same house number, but is on a different nearby street. The carrier said he tried to contact someone at the house to try to retreive the package, but has been unable to do so.
The seller is sending me a new item. I don’t always constantly monitor tracking for packages, but from now on I will. If I have to report not receiving something, it’s better to report it sooner than later.
This probably won’t be of much help for those who live in a building with multiple units.
Thats useful to know. I have had trouble in the past with my mail. I’ve always gotten my packages but my mail itself has been “lost”.
