Ups vs USPS
I have contacted HSN several times about this issue. Over the last year they are using the USPS instead of UPS. It’s delivered by UPS to the city then transferred which delays it a day to the US Post Office to be delivered. Our poor mailman is overcome with packages. Their tiny little trucks will not hold the amount of packages they must deliver, requiring many return trips to the post office to restock their trucks. It is now 6:30 at night and we’re just getting our mail. Will used to get it by noon.

My Heidi TS that I ordered within the first hour of viewing was put on extended delivery unknown to me. I wanted it for an event tomorrow night. I got the notice of delayed delivery too late to cancel it. It arrived in my town on Wednesday but instead of being delivered by UPS when they came to my neighbors, I see that it is at the post office still! It will arrive too late for my event because our mail is so delayed. I ordered a second color of the same TS just before midnight the following day and it was delivered by UPS on Wednesday. Go figure.
I agree I don’t like this either. I have a few packages at UPS now waiting to be taken to the post office. What a waste of time.
USPS may be happy about picking up the deliveries now for UPS, FedEx, however, the post lady IS NOT! This helps the USPS not have to close on Sat like they were talking about. I think w/growing numbers of consumers doing online shopping now, it helps everybody. My mail lady, of course, had an adjustment period she had to go through, hissy fits, refused to actually get out of mail truck and put at door, crammed my box full w/wrinkled up packages that ripped trying to get out of box. This was 1 to 2 years ago and I have since bought the biggest mail box they make! She thanked me but she’s still a b*#%h. I have only increased my online shopping.
You can always sign up for UPS My Choice and have the packages delivered by UPS, if you so choose. If you sign up for the free version, it costs $3.50 per package to have it delivered directly to you instead of to USPS; You can instead sign up their premium service for $40 a year and have the ability change an unlimited number of packages for no additional charge..
Trust me though, USPS is not unhappy about delivering your packages as it means revenue to them. Here, they even have extra trucks that deliver packages rather than having the mailman deliver all of them.
I also dislike the post office delivery. I like to sign for my deliveries, that way I am sure to receive them The post office just leaves on front steps near the mail box No matter the weather . It would be all right if it was left on the porch and the bell could be rung, they would not have to wait for me to answer. I think when it is free shipping it is mailed via the post office, cheaper for HSN. Take care AGGY788
Aggy, if you sign up for UPS My choice (as I detailed in my response to the OP), you can sign up to receive emails or texts about a package being delivered. My experience has been that I receive a text within 15 minutes even if it’s ultimately delivered by USPS instead of UPS. My experience has not been that UPS requires a signature. Whether or not they do is up to the sender.
