So disappointed in DG2 by Diane Gilman Stretch Twill Knit Pull-On Skinny Jegging
I’d like to vent if I may. I ordered DG2 by Diane Gilman Stretch Twill Knit Pull-On Skinny Jegging and I cannot believe how bad the sizing was on this. I waited awhile to leave my review as I had concerns that perhaps it was just me. Well today, I noticed approximately 50% reviews about the sizing and how customers will have to return AND pay fees to do so. I certainly am not knocking DG here as I am a huge fan of her jeans and have always taken time out of my day to leave a review as I believe it is a big help for someone while shopping especially if they are new to her line. And to DG on a personal note, I am so glad to see you back and wish you nothing but good healing now and forever <3
Back to my issue though… When a vendor announces a NEW FABRICATION to their line and it ends up having sayyyy sizing issues like the ones here, wouldn’t it be fair to suggest that the vendor pick up the return charges (not hsn) due to the fact that this IS a new fabrication and obviously not much research and development occurred because had it did, I would think the vendor would in fact state the obvious in their “roll out” preview of such? In this case, stating that the waist is tiny and those who have hips will have difficulties pulling them up or maybe state that if you have boy hips, that these will work fine for you? (by the way, I stole that last part from a review lol) I feel that in this case, the customer played and paid for (if returning) the R&D role in this new fabrication. Please understand, I am addressing the issue of new fabrication only. Because once a customer understands it, they WILL order their size accordingly (or choose not to). I’ve had to do this with DG’s Virtual and Classic fits. Virtual has me going down a size and classic has me at my regular size. It’s one thing when you can exchange but that isn’t always an option since usually a new item rolls out as a TS and folks order up leaving exchange possibilities sold out.
I’m saying this yet once again that I am only addressing the matter of a vendor introducing a NEW fabrication. And this jegging was just sized so funky in my opinion. Thoughts? Don’t be too hard on me and may the flogging commence lol.
Thanks for listening.
I also would like to suggest that maybe if a vendor is looking for further R&D of a new item that is out of the norm that they are introducing, that maybe they could send out notices to a given number of their frequent buyers (of DG pants in this particular case) to see if they would like to participate and sample without any obligation whatsoever. It could clearly be outlined that should the customer love and keep it, then they will be billed otherwise return at no charge.
Or… DG needs to further her R&D in other ways prior to rushing out a big launch. Quality control is everything!!
The last two pair of her jeans I purchased have been a joke! her virtual stretch #560-464 Had a bai waist & rise is off (they bag out in the rear) & the leg towards the ankle fits like a legging. I’m stuck with that pair because it’s past 30 days. Then her classic stretch #548-303 chambray have no stretch at all. They fit, I couldn’t take a larger size. They are stiff feeling & uncomfortable! I will be returning. I don’t know why the real measurements are not posted like QVC. Some of her skinny jeans have a normal legging opening at the bottom & others are skin tight. I am asking for a refund of S & H. Also her faux suede jegging is really a legging! Not more of a pant as advertised, so I will be returning 2 pair of those. I am done with DG 2 for now. They are not the same quality as a few years ago!
I couldn’t agree more ,Jody. If all DG jeans aren’t the same size then the sizing chart should be displayed and mentioned repeatedly during the show.
I am returning two pair of DG2’s right now for an exchange due to sizing change since 5 months ago!
It’s so disappointing to have to go to the post office ,stand in line and pay to exchange them. I hope exchanges are still free this year for HSN CC members.
I just got off the phone due to not receiving Iman outfit I’ve been looking for since December 26th.
They ran out of my size so I’ll get a refund ,but they were out of my size . They delivered on January 4th but someone took them off my enclosed porch!
I’m wondering if ordering our clothing will end one day?
Just received two pkgs from amazon for neighbors ,left them on my porch! I have to go out in 20 degree weather and snow to make sure my neighbors receive their items.
I hope whoever got my Iman outfit is enjoying it!
I’m disgusted with sizing changes, delivery without signature required and wonder what the solution is?
I love DG ,but now have to be afraid to order my regular XL anymore. Same style, same fabric but tiny waist. If I bump up to 1X the legs will be huge.
There,I also vented and I feel your pain Jody. All the best health to Diane Gilman . I wonder if the new jeans are being made in another country?
Good luck to everyone!

I totally agree about the sizing in the twill. I purchased two, gray and indigo in my normal size large. The gray fit fine but the indigo was a struggle to get on. I have stopped completely buying DG2’s in black due to that horrible chemical smell. I can’t understand why the host and models aren’t experiencing the same problems as they all smile and nod their heads in agreement about this particular TS, being true to size.
I gave up on Diane’s line of clothes several years ago. Once she made it about sales and not quality I quit buying. The sizing is always off, if you buy different colors in her jeans they all fit different. It’s sad because I find this happening alot with HSN clothes. It used to be all sizing at HSN was the same across the board with all vendors, but not any more. When I found I was sending more and more back I quit buying! Sad but true. I am not bashing Diane I wish her nothing but good health in the future.
I agree with a shipping break on new styles. I am new to HSN and Diane’s jeans, but after some trial and error, I think I have reached my formula. 2X or 18W depending. However I just had to send back the olive 18W in that bootleg twill style that was just on, for a 20W. 2X in these NEW KNIT JEANS is best for me. (I tried one pair of 1X and they were too small) However, I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to keep them up without a belt. I love her jeans and I don’t know if others have this problem. Maybe because my calves in particular are so large they keep pulling the pants down. If I wear a high rise belt I am totally comfortable in all of the styles with no yanking them up all day. I always wear my tops out, so I believe I’m going to have to sew belt loops on all of these new knit jeans. Otherwise they will drive me crazy. I bought 5 of the 7 colors and am on the wait list for another oat, grey and black. I hope they wear as well as she claims. Coming from another tv shopping network I do like that HSN gives you $5 spendable kash back for 6 returns per year. I wish they would give us 12.
Often some complain too small while others complain too large. Reviewers should always mention the size they are talking about. I have noticed at times there are more complaints about the small sizes being off than the large sizes, and vice-versa. It would help other shoppers to mention your size because it seems the entire style doesn’t always run small or large. That said, I also noticed a difference in size between colors, so it’s really impossible isn’t it? Sigh.
Agree, not only mentioning your size, but your measurements! It doesn’t help when people say they ordered a L with no point of reference. 😊
I also had to return two pairs of the Today’s Special, one in indigo and one in black. I thought I heard them say to order your regular DG2 size, so I ordered a petite small, which is what I usually wear, or a 6 petite, in her jeans. I could not believe how tight the indigo was! I could barely get them on, and knew right away that I would be returning. I guess I should have gone by the size chart and taken a medium, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to take a chance on an exchange. A few years ago, she had a knit jean and I loved it, and even had the jean jacket to match. I was hoping it would be the same as that. Highly disappointed !!
Couldn’t agree more. I cannot find my size with DG. Tops included. I ordered 2 pair of these pants. I got the oatmeal (tall, small) fit, but showed every tiny bump on the back of my legs. Ordered the indigo and they were so tight I could bare get on. Once on, they were cute, but if I gained one lb., they wouldn’t fit. Such difference in size. Returned both
I returned both of the suede/ponte knit jeggings at my expense. They fit fine but the legs were so narrow at the bottom they didn’t look right. I am also being allowed to return a pair of her indigo virtual stretch jeans that I bought several months ago for the same reason, very narrow opening at the bottom of the jean. I had to keep pulling them down. The waist stretched out so much I looked like a fool with my droopy drawers! I have always ordered a 10 tall. Now I can’t figure out the sizing anymore. One chart will say order your “normal” size and another size down. The hosts said to size down on the last pair I bought (I didn’t) and the chart said order your normal size. Do they mean DG2 size or department store? And those vary. Why not use a size chart like QVC does? They give you the waist, hip, length & bottom opening. I have long slim legs & I know 9″ at the bottom is going to be a problem in a size 10! !0 or 10 1/2″ is perfect, still look like skinny jeans and they don’t ride up my leg. Something hanged about a year ago & it’s not good.
