HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY USED A NON-STICK PAN THAT KEEPS ITS NON-STICK PROPERTIES? I’VE USED MANY – GREEN PAN, CERAMIC COATED, CUISINART NON-STICK, ETC. AND (WITH EXCEPTION OF GRN. PAN – FORGET THAT THING) THEY ARE FINE FOR 1ST FEW USINGS BUT AFTER THAT THEY LOSE NON-STICK PROPERTIES. JEST WONDERIN’…. (SURE IT WORKS GREAT ON TV, BUT I’D LIKE TO SEE THE CHEFS USE THE SAME PAN EVERY TIME THEY’RE ON! THEN…… THEY’D GET MY ATTENTION & MAYBE MY MONEY.)
THANK YOU ONE & ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME TO RESPOND. I TRULY APPRECIATE IT!
SNOOPSTER, thank you for this post. Very interesting. I will so agree with you on the GREEN PANS. Absolutely a rating of -1. Bought the entire set. Just like you stated, "they are fine for the 1st few usings, but after that—–.) They are junk. I’m sorry to say Joy went on-and-on how great they are……lead me WRONG, and wasted my hard earn money. I am looking for a new purchase myself and that is why I totally appreciate this post. THANK YOU "FAIREMAIDEN" ON YOUR INFO ABOUT EMERIAL’S PANS. I KNOW YOU ARE A VERY INTELLIGENT WOMAN AND I WILL TAKE YOUR ADVICE ANYTIME. THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL, WELL MADE AND WORTH EVERY PENNY. I’M GONNA LOOK INTO THEM! I AM ALSO A WONDERFUL COOK AND I LOVE TO COOK AND ENTERTAIN…SO NEW EMERIAL COOKWARE IS ESSENTIAL TO ME.
I bought Curtis Stone’s quantanium non stick dura pans last March and they work very well. Nothing sticks and you can use metal utensils, does not scratch. And they heat up fast.
SNOOPSTER… I use Emeril’s Essentials Non-Stick, and, I was so impressed with it, I bought a second set! *lol*. I’ve been using both these Sets for the past 2-1/2 years and it’s still like the day I bought it. Of course, you have to use the wooden, plastic, or silicone utensils. If you use metal, you WILL wreck the non-stick finish.
Now then, I’m a great cook and always used Stainless Steel… my last set of this was Wolfgang Puck’s brand… and I was perfectly happy with it. However, my husband is brutal in the kitchen… he burns everything!
I finally decided to try a Non-Stick fry-pan to see if it that kind of stuff actually worked, (I’d never used a non-stick before). Well, I happened to see Emeril selling this kind of cookware, on HSN, one night when I was channel-surfing. I thought, ‘Kismet!’ So, instead of just buying one fry-pan, I took the chance and bought the whole set in the Champagne colour. The rest is history. *lol*
My husband still burns everything… but, I no longer have to scrub, scrub, scrub… everything just wipes right out of the pan. Yaaaaay!!!
p.s. Also, love the Silicone Pan and Lid Handles… don’t have to find and use a pot-holder anymore. As well, Emeril isn’t here at HSN anymore; he’s over at the Q now, I think.
Oooo… and it’s On-Sale w/Free S/H, AND 6-EasyPay! Red and Blue available.
I have some Calphalon cookware that I bought long ago from Macys that is just great.I don’t know if it is still that good in recent years but I can clean the pans by just a wipe with a paper towel if I wanted to.I always wash them but they are still non-stick after all this time.I have read some recent reviews and a lot don’t seem to be to happy with it now.Things aren’t made like they use to be for sure.
