Scambook (facebook) like/dislike button?
Well well well, mr. scambook himself says that scambook may be implementing a new dislike button on that site.
But he made it clear that scambook was proceeding cautiously and was not giving the concept of a "dislike" button a thumbs up yet. "It’s important to give people more options than just ‘like’" to help express empathy and sympathy, he said. "Not every moment is a good moment."While many users love the idea of scambook adding a dislike button, I don’t think there are many users who are dying to have their own content disliked.
I suspect it will mainly be used to express mild disapproval, or to express solidarity when someone posts about a negative event.
This makes me wonder what the corporate lobbyists will do to prevent this from coming about. No company would want the 1.5 billion scambook users to see how many users "dislike" them. That would harm their professional profile and may cause some followers to uncheck the "like" button.
I for one am all for this. Do you think this will be a good thing or a bad thing?
This may improve customer service, to better the consumer experience with their company. Not only see how many people "like" them for what ever reason but to see how many who don’t. This can be helpful in doing a little research on the company before hitting that "like" button or purchasing their products or services.
Will be interesting to see who "likes" this thread or not, lol.
There are scams going now that want you to "DOWNLOAD" a scambook "dislike" button. DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT download any such malware. The "dislike" button is only in the talking stage and not a working link.
If you guessed that I am not a scambook fan, you guessed correctly. Sorry, no tickets or prize for that.
mrbucket, thank you for posting this. I don’t have a Facebook page. Don’t read them either. I guess I am just too private. I don’t need everyone knowing my every move. And it consumes too much of everyone’s time. What happened to privacy and keeping things to yourself in your life. Everyone does not need to know everything and I don’t really don’t think everyone cares. I agree with the last posts.
Thanks, again mrbucket for your informative post.
To me Facebook has helped to corrupt society.
I call it bragbook….look at me I’m on vacation, check out my new hair and clothes,
OMG did you see how fat so and so is getting!!and on it goes.
I have family members constantly trying to get me to join, not gonna happen.
I’d rather spend my time cooking a nice dinner and cleaning the house.
Also, just love …".click on the like button for your chance to win"
Isn’t that just ducky!
thanks for the informative post Mr. B. I hate Facebook. I had a friend create a FB page for me when my daughter was away on active military duty a few years ago and have rarely used it since. It always locks my computer up! And I just can’t for the life of me imagine why so many people are compelled to post practically every waking moment of their lives. Just don’t get it. :robotfrustrated:
Glad this is helping some of you.
My take on scambook is that they say they help people connect with one another, hell bells gurdy! Isn’t that what the telephone and US mail do for years?
Was generally a good idea until corporations ruined it with their "like" us garbage and big brother tracking your every movement.
I do very little on FB. Just wish people happy birthdays, and ask for prayers for people. That’s it. I’m not a social media person.
And thanks for the info
Thank you Mr B for posting this information.
It’s a "Like" Mr. B! Thanks for the info!
Mr. B, thanks for posting this information. Your post came at the right time. My husband almost downloaded a "dislike" button. I can see why businesses are hesitant about the "dislike" button. You’re right, consumers can use it as another tool to voice their displeasure. On a personal level, can you imagine posting a picture of your new haircut, new puppy, or new car and a friend clicks on dislike? Ouch!
By the way, I am LIKING your thread!
