I’m noticing this odd trend of women making lewd and/or harassing comments to men at work these days. I have lots of examples, but I’ll just say this: Today at work, one of the male managers was rubbing a label onto a box. One of the female workers stood over him and said, "That’s it, nice and slow. Nice and slow." After she made the comment, she and the other female workers laughed hysterically. The male manager seemed embarrassed and ignored the comment. Another male supervisor, who was within hearing range, stood there red faced, not knowing what to say.
Certainly, that kind of behavior exhibited against women was and still is inappropriate and unacceptable. I don’t understand why females would engage in that kind of behavior?? It’s as if they miss the good ol’ days of sexual harassment. Why can’t everyone just respect each other? :womanfrustrated:
I also obey the female superior
As a male I love it when women are aggressive in the office I would do anything a lady told me to do because they are the superior
Chimein, curious as to the approximate age of these woman, not that this is unique to certain ages.
I personally have seen a ton of this, by men and woman in the work place over my work life. Where I work now, we are required to review the sexual harrassment policy every year. There is much more awareness.
Personally, I would like to see the Manager take a stand and say something right at that time.
Change the work culture.
It doesn’t have to be any too harsh, just something like I’m not here for that and don’t appreciate it type of thing and walk away.
Chimein and CrayCrayCatty these women that work among you sure looks like they are instigators. Nothing but "TROUBLE." It also seems trashy action to me, on their part. Yep, yep, yep, I would do exactly like Oldpixie states: (long story short) you should report them to HR department. The remarks that these women make and their actions can and will cause marital problems (if the individual is married). Ladies it’s time to take the garbage out and clean house where you work.
I’ve been noticing the same exact thing, even in the law firm. I thought it was just me. I thought I was being paranoid or something, but it’s true. Women seem to go out of their ways to initiate these crude scenarios and exchanges. Female workers make comments like, "You’re a big man, so-and-so. Come here and do that again." Or they’ll walk over to a male lawyer’s desk and bend way over, pretending to get a file or something, virtually with their rear-ends in the poor lawyer’s face. Don’t these women have any self awareness? What’s the take away of all of this?
Historically, there was such a strong fight to make work environments free of hostility and harrassment. Why revive such inequity and inappropriate conduct?
I agree with the OP’s thought. I feel as if women like or want to be objectified in some way.
That comment by your co-worker is sexual harrassment. If these sort of comments make you uncomfortable, you should report them to your HR dept. A comment or behavior does not have to be directed to you or to females to be reported. If this sort of behavior is not stopped then it will probably continue and escalate. I feel sorry for your male coworker.
