Rest in Peace Omar Sharif
As Sheba let us know earlier today, Omar Sharif passed away in Egypt from a heart attack at age 83. In addition to starring in several top films, the easy on the eyes Mr. Sharif earned degrees in mathematics and physics and was a world champion bridge player with a syndicated bridge column. Some interesting trivia….while he was not known to have romantic relationships with his leading ladies, he and Barbra Streisand did have an affair while filming Funny Girl. Wonder what Julie Christie thought about that? Rest in peace Omar Sharif, you will be missed!
Myra, it’s great to see you again. I’m glad that you and LuckyRuby found each other. I know what you mean about the Replies getting ‘buried’. That is why we often start a new post even replying to someone–especially if their post is not on Page 1.
Or another thing we do is to reply in the box that we are responding to and then also add a new post at the top that would include their name and say that we left them a message by their post X number of pages back or where they talked about …and then put in the topic. It’s awkward.
That is another good use for the smiles. Especially when I ‘find’ a reply to me that was made quite a bit later in time than the original, I smile on it to let the poster know that it was seen. The smile will show up in the poster’s notification box and they can easily check to see if a reply was also made.
Sometimes I make a new post telling others that I think that they might have missed a post that was made (especially if it was a reply to someone and I don’t see an acknowledging smile or reply), because it was added after we were past that page when the reply was made.
For example, if I don’t see a smile or reply to these posts to you and to LuckyRuby, I will probably make a later post at the top just to ask if you saw this post.
LuckyRuby, nobody is ever intruding here. Glad to see you and happy that you ‘found’ Myra. That’s something about Jay King wanting her phone number. I there a story here???!!!!!:womanlol:
I see your unfinished avatar and I think that may mean that it didn’t go through correctly. For that to appear, it seems that you knew all the steps, but I think that something went wrong. We’ve helped quite a few people get their avatars and also to fix ones that didn’t ‘take’. If you stop back here, we’ll be glad to help. It would be great if you could come here tonight for our Trivia Party which we play together when the Sean Daly Friday Night Show is on.
Yes, I saw Jay’s response, what a delightful man, you were so right and I’ve just been too stressed out. Thank you for your so sweet and helpful posts. :cathappy: I’ve just had too much on my plate to follow through yet. I will try to find your post on the jewelry thread. HSN needs to fix this forum. On other forums when you reply to a post, that post and the responce is made a new post. This forum doesn’t do that, when you respond to an older post, the response is buried back with that old post instead of being brought forward where people can see it.
Thanks for letting us Know Snow and ShebaDaus. I would have missed it.
A very good actor and most certainly easy on the eyes. Do not recall any negativity surrounding him as a person. I get so surprised these days when I notice the ages of some of the people we lose – may be because I am keeping them company and you just don’t think of them anything but young. Sigh.
As I said before if I live to be a 110 you will never stop amazing me.:smileyhappy:
I love what you posted on conversations. You are full of surprises:heart:
Always stay that way:womanhappy:
