Pre-charged and item never shipped!!!
According the Law a consumer should only be charged when the item ships and not before, but HSN now pre-charges and keeps the funds enriching their bank account, while mine is depleting, and the HSN item does not ship out. No shipping and no operational tracking number, and there is absolutely no excuse for this.
I have read and received my share of emails from HSN and our interactions as to why HSN could not give me a shipment/delivery approximation date.
My attitude is since HSN is a vast Home Shopping Channel serving the disabled, elderly, rural customers,
and others, if they cannot charge on the date the item actually ships out to the customer, and follow billing/shipping guidelines to the letter which are enacted to safeguard the Consumer from unscrupulous Corporate practices, then they have no business, being in business.
According to the NYS Banking Commission, and my Bank Manager pre charging and not shipping merchandise is a deplorable disrespectful Corporate trait, and should cease immediately.
When using checking accounts the normal procedure is for HSN to contact the Bank’s Issuer of their card and place a temporary hold for the amount of the item the consumer has ordered.
Only when the item actually ships out will the permanent charge go into effect.
HSN pre-charged without having the second item to ship, but kept my $ for a long period of time, and my HSN status displayed processing/packaging, but the item never displayed shipped, nor gave any track # which was operational.
Meanwhile HSN is collecting Bank interest on my money and others in the same predicament, and we are being disrespected, by these inappropriate corporate tactics.
When any Company does this they lose to the Competition, which does not practice such deplorable tactics.
Also taking orders and not having the actual items to ship on time as promised, and then cancelling the orders unbeknown to the Customer is another horrific trait, and one which is detested by all Consumers.
That old saying of “Honesty is the best policy” and maintaining Corporate integrity and impeccable reputation is the reason companies remain in business successfully, and also retain a very loyal Consumer data base.
The best free advertising any Company can hope to receive is from their Customers recommendations, and now I cannot in all good conscience recommend HSN for holiday gifts, as they many never arrive.
Also since HSN is pre-charging and keeping funds for long periods of time. HSN is also not charging on the actual date the item is shipped out to the Customer, and that tactic is a unacceptable action on all levels,
Now I am purchasing most of my holiday shopping from internet competitors, and in person, and and have not encountered from other internet vendors any pre-charging of items not immediately available for shipment.
