PLEASE Wolfgang….PLEASE take a class on SANITARY PRACTICES???
Although I love HSN and have many products by Wolfgang Puck…I am nauseated by his lack of ANY sanitary practices while on air.
Just today within 2 minute on air, I have watched ‘Wolfgang wipe that nasty nose of his, then wipe his fingers on his shirt…then with that same hand? HE PICKED UP RAW SHRIMP AND RAW CHICKEN, threw it into a pan on his countertop cooker, and then WIPED HIS HAND on the SAME rag that he just wiped from his nose.
He then picked up cut lemons with that same unsanitary hand, squeezed it into the pan of shrimp, wiped his hand, then picked up salt with that hand and then wiped that same hand on the rag again. He went on to continue to wipe his nose, touch food, scratch his forehead…and then repeat the ‘touch the food, nose wiping, hand wiping, food touching’ rountine over and over again.
Can someone at HSN PLEASE tell him that these practices are turning off his audience? Not to mention, if he is so unsanitary on air, can you even imagine how he spreads germs in his restaurants when there aren’t any cameras?
I’m sorry, but this has not been an isolated thing with him. He is constantly wiping his nose and wiping his hands on a towel or rag that is either tucked into his pants or thrown over his shoulder and then touching either raw food and/or cooked food. I’ve even seen him then stick his fingers into cooked food and put that same finger INTO HIS MOUTH and then? He continues on to TOUCH MORE FOOD, sometimes handing that food to the HSN demonstrators!
Does HSN not care? Are Wolf’s sales too advantageous to HSN to tell him this? This is not just me who has noticed. All the people I know who watch HSN all the time feel the same way. They are disgusted and turned off by his lack or care of ANY sanitary practices while on air. Myself…well I’m glad I purchased my Wolfgang cookware and utensils etc BEFORE I ever saw him doing all this nose wiping stuff.
I love my cookware. I am disgusted by his constant and repeated cross contaminating food, cook counters, utensils, even his own clothing and can just imagine what is brewing on those towels he cross contaminates on air.
PLEASE HSN…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…sit him down and tell him how he’s losing customers with these incomprehensibly fitlthy practices. I LOVE HSN…I hate being forced to watch such dirty practices in order to see his products.
Also, I’m not deliberately trying to disparage Wolfgang. As I said I have and love his products and love HSN. I just hope you won’t refuse to post this discussion because of the subject matter of the concerns.
LOL. I can’t stop laughing. No wonder the actors don’t eat at the Oscars.
I helped at a soup kitchen, the standards in that kitchen were higher than any Wolgang Puck uses.
If any of the helpers did the things he does we would have been told to go home.
I would not serve any food WP cooked to the people who came to the soup kitchen, they don’t eat slop.
Put the spoon to his mouth and then back in the pot, really?
Once he picked his nose, wiped his nose on his towel then used the same towel to remove food from a plate for presentation. He also wiped his hands on the towel after touching food. I like to gross my family out so when I am cooking, I sling a towel over my shoulder call them in and “Puck” away.
Licking his fingers while cooking, and touching the rest of whatever he is cooking …………I don’t think so!!! That is just GROSS!
He’s on right now, and are playing a drinking game…Everytime Wolfgang rubs his nose, picks his ears, and then touches the food, and rubs it on that rag…We take a shot. So drunk right now…
I agree…tasting is important…but sticking your finger in the food is NOT sanitary….I’ve noticed it also when W. Puck presents….I literally have to change the channel when he does this….aaaahhhh
Oh my goodness! He was at it again this weekend! I thought it was just me who was totally grossed out and in uttter disbelief, but I see there are others!! Thank you for your post.
In addition to the sniffling, and rubbing his nose with his hands, he actually took his towel and rubbed his nose then used the same towel to clean the sides of a plate for presentation. AND, if all that isn’t bad enough….he…wait for it…actually picked his nose. I can, kind of, excuse the sticking his fingers in the food to taste it..kind of…but the nose thing….no way.
Please HSN, talk to him.
I just went to watch a video of him with his pressure cooker and in 5 mins I saw him scratch his head and then with that same fingers scoop macaroni into the pot. He then scratched his face and poured spices in one of the pressure cookers and stirred it with that same hand then reached over and picked out a sausage out with that hand and ate it with that dirty towel flung over his shoulder. I would never eat after that man cooked
Does Shannon still eat his food after all that?
Yes. It was nauseating to watch him on tv today. Filthy habits. I mean it’s ok to blow your nose – we are all human. Just wash with soap and water before you touch anything else. I will NEVER go to one of his restaurants.
I agree with your comments. Disgusting. Today he is using bakeware sold on QVC called Temptations in floral lace pattern What the heck is wrong with this mans nose. Imagine he cooks for the stars with his unsanitary habits. Embarrassing HSN
Puck is too wealthy to be sanitary.
In the play, A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream, the Puck character is a ‘miscreant spirit with capricious humor who plays deliberate pranks on people and also makes unfortunate mistakes. He revels in the chaos he creates. He never asks for forgiveness from people, or from those who fell victim to his mistakes.’
I think the name is apropos.
You are so right! Watching him today is making me sick…I am an HSN customer and would not buy ANYTHING from him!
Wow…seems there are threads all through the HSN Community about this subject. Some in places I’d never thought to check!
I just also realized there is a ‘similar’ Community on the ‘other’ shopping network which had 6 entire pages about Wolf’s 1.5 Cup Rice Cooker from HSN, along with many comments about this same unsanitary topic…including another entire thread re: ‘How Often Do You Wash Your Kitchen Towels’!
Seems tons of people are cognizant of cross contamination and festering bacteria on towels from wiping hands, counters, pots, pans etc.
Perhaps HSN will take note and address the issue??
One can only hope!!!
