PAY IT FORWARD
Recently, Steve began a conversation he titled "WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO DISHONEST". It saddens many of us to hear how so many are ripped off, vandalized, robbed etc. Years ago we’d hear on TV about "Random Acts of Violence". Later, we began hearing about "Random Acts of Kindness" There are ALWAYS ways we can show a kindness, even if it’s a smile or a hello to someone. There have many times, someone would pay for the gas of the person in front of them already in line at the cash register, or paying for someones purchase at a grocery store, convience store etc.(like the movie "PAY IT FORWARD". We can look for ways to show a kindness to others. The opportunities are ALWAYS there, if we would but pay attention. Where do they start? They start with the individual. If not you…then who? If not now…then when? It’s something to think about.
I like doing good deeds and calling myself anonymous. :womanwink:
Not everyone in the world is dishonest.
Great Post Lady4Peace.
Love this new thread & Skittles you definitely have the right frame of mind when giving! Be anonymous. A true giver never lets the left hand know what the right hand is doing. When people feel the need to make a scene or boast that they are giving it is just to bring attention to themselves. We never know what a person is going thru. Lady4Peace great thread! Kudos to you! I like to surprise people with gift baskets of soaps, lotions, etc. If I know someone is coming to visit I go into my closet of extra goodies & I love to get a gift bag out & make up a bag of stuff to hand out. A smile goes a long way as well. Or to help an elderly person at the grocery store to reach on the higher shelf for what they can’t reach themselves. So many ways to make a persons day 🙂 I wish I could give smiles to this thread but can’t since it is in TAY. Have a beautiful day all 🙂
I help out at a soup kitchen, I tell every person I serve"Glad to see you here, I get BIG smiles and a lot of" thank you for being here and God Bless you".
This from people who maybe homeless, out of work or just need a meal and a warm place for a little while.
A smile , a thank you go a long way.
Thank You Lady4Peace! In that post I asked To restore my faith in mankind? and reading my post and your awsome post! ALL you have Softened me up!:smileyhappy: And and have DONE THAT! (restored my faith) Thank you all! Lady Those words are Great!
This is an awesome thread.
Lady4Peace Rocks!
I have been very fortunate in my life..I see so many people struggling at the check-out in thw Wal-Store or supermarket..Having to choose at the last minute at the register what to leave behind..Especially after they have left the pharmacy section..Having to choose betweem meds and eating is a horrible thing..
Many times I have paid for that person’s things whether it was necessary items or just craving cookies or candy..Most people are so shocked..(young or old)..that a stranger would do this..
Guess my parents taught me well..
Due to guidelines, I cannot post a YouTube link.
There is a really cool Pay It Forward video on YouTube.
If you observe the video from start to finish, you will see the good that you caused comes back to you.
Thank you for this post, Lady4Peace…
I couldn’t agree more. One of my biggest joys is to pick up grocery favorites for my elderly neighbors while I’m in the market doing my own food shopping. I always just tell them that.. ‘I was in the market and saw (put the item here), and remebered how much you liked it, and before I knew..it just jumped right into my cart!!’
Yes…it’s so easy to put a smile on someone’s face with just a simple act of kindness…
