No Reviews Allowed Until 5 Days have Passed??
No reviews for 5 days?? I just tried to review an Antthony top I received yesterday. But I am not allowed to do this right away–not until my opinion has had more time to form, evolve and, what is the word customer service used, oh yes, is “strong”. I can tell you, it is strong right now. This top, advertised as “matt jersey” is not jersey at all. I know polyester when I touch it. The label even says polyester and spandex! I have paid attention to many of the presentations on HSN (and Evine, too). The hosts are pretty careful NOT to use the word polyester because that fabrication is not well liked. It’s often hot. It does not breathe. It slinks too closely to body imperfections. And it was supposed to be sent back to Japan in the 1970’s (kidding). My top is pretty and a great price. Thank you, Anttony. But there is a flaw in the fabric right in the middle front! It’s a whitish mark. How did that get by Quality Control? I get to return it. What fun!
I understand the 5 days and I do honestly review products often. Where reviews have helped me the most is in sizing. and I so appreciate that. Just ordered a Marla W top and chose the right size because a few reviews mentioned it ran a tad large. A big thanks to all those posters that mention size.
Yes, it’s always been this way. In some ways it’s a great idea but for other items (that are obvious defective/poor cut or fit) I think you should be able to post that right away. Obviously, there’s no way to differentiate so the 5 day waiting period is the standard.
1. Matte Jersey can be made from different fabrics. They were not trying to swindle you, BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE SAID a POLY matte jersey. (if you do not believe me just look it up)
I never but the poly pieces from Anthony as I do not like the material. I ALWAYS look the in the online item description so there is no confusion.
2. I’m sorry you did not know that matte jersey can be made from poly and were dissapointed and feel duped.
3. I appreciate that people have to wait before writing a review.
The reviews are often filled w/ glowing 5 star reviews when people have not worn, washed and or used an item. Then we find out after wearing that they don’t wash well as said, or the knees bag out or any number of things.
This is especially bad in the luggage dept. People raving about how gorgeous it looks and that they can’t wait to use it…. that will be multitudes of 5 star reviews. Then the poor people use the luggage and the wheels break, handle breaks, facing peels off and on and on from a single use….
I was guilty of writing a good review on a pair of pants that fit and looked great, washed great…. I had worn them about 10 min then washed them. Well when I actually wore them longer, about 20 min sitting normally, the knees bagged out horrible making them unwearable!
I felt bad that I had contributed to someone else’s dissapointment and there is no way to update a review.
Or how about jewerly reviews from people who give 5 stars because it looks amazing and fits great…… then they wear it for a day and maybe the undergallery is finished poorly and digs into the finger (which has happened to me especially w/ CL rings), or a stone falls out, or the prongs ruin your silk blouse…. on and on I could go.
So my fellow catlady, take heart, come back in a few days and then let it rip- but please know many terms like matte jersey refer to the way the fabric is processed, not the fabric content.
oh and I commend HSN for the delayed review window, otherwise there would be even more inaccurate 5 star reviews and I think they know this!
I think there should be a distinction made between reviews on things such as fashion and beauty. If I receive an item of clothing and try it on, I either really like it or dislike it so much I want to package it up and return it immediately. On the other hand, I don’t believe there is any way to assess a beauty item for at least a month if not longer. There is no comparison between the two types of merchandise. I get very frustrated when asked by HSN to review a face cream shortly after I receive it. I get equally frustrated when I fall in love with a fashion item and can’t review it. Ten days later, I’ve lost my desire to write about it. :smileyfrustrated:
sounds like you have a defective item. I find HSN CS is always happy to help, open a chat window or call them. they will send out a replacement if in stock even before your item is returned or refund you when item is returned and they will waive the return fee if you use the return lable because it’s defective. This doesn’t happen to me a lot, but when it does HSN is top notch. I can’t say that of QVC. Hope that helps..
Yes. This is standard for HSN. They want customers to have time with the product before giving a review. Only place I’ve ever ordered that has such a policy. LOL at I can tell you my opinion is strong right now…….:womanlol:
