Has anybody tried this stuff? I actually purchased it by mistake. I happened to see coca-cola in glass bottles in the Rite Aid in which I shop. So I purchased a bottle, thinking it was ordinary American coca-cola made with corn sugar. When I got home and drank it, I thought "Wow, this really tastes delicious." I read the label on the bottle and saw it was Mexican manufactured coca-cola. The difference is that Mexican coca-cola is made with natural cane sugar.
I was always afraid to try it because I had fears that the water would be contaminated. Now I’m addicted to it! LOL!
If it were that easy……I wish! But then, I would have more cats than house! LOL
"I want one JUST like that one."
So cute! My caption will be "now I got you!"
HSN should start carrying Mexican Coca – Cola … since it is hard to find.
I don’t drink a Lot of Coke … but when I Have to Have one. …. I gotta have it.
I will certainly look for the Mexican or cane sugar kind.
Pepsi (mountain dew, nestle) was heavily criticized about a year ago for using (aborted fetus) in its manufacturing process. – They finally agreed to stop.
I allow myself one Coke per week usually on Fridays. Impossible to lose or maintain my weight with any more.
I think the bigger issue with any sweetenener, rather than the weight issue, is the fact that they rot the teeth. I wasn’t raised on pop and rarely drink it, but I was raised on iced tea sweetened with pure sugar & I have had my share of cavities, but have never been overweight.
The mexican coca cola is made like it USED to be made int he US. Coke didn’t always use corn syrup. I do think there are one or 2 American plants that sell the cane sugar variety. I think it was one in KY or GA, but I could be wrong there. I haven’t seen glass bottles of coke anywhere that didn’t come from Mexico. I see them at the grocery store in the foreign foods aisle for those that are looking.
I love coke. I wake up and get my first one and I drink it until I go to sleep. I have always thought it tastes better in glass bottles. I never thought to see where it came from so I might have already had some, but just in case I will be looking for Mexican Coke. Oh and I love it even more when poured over really crushed ice. Yes I am on the never ending diet but I will never give up my cokes. I am sure it makes my weight loss slower but it is possible to loose weight and not give up the cokes.
According to a recent article, Coca-Cola and Pepsi sales are down 3%. Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi sales are down 6%. Pepsi is changing from Aspartame to Stevia (sucralose) in Diet Pepsi in the hopes that sales will increase.
I don’t typically drink pop but I’m a sucker for Mexican coke.
Corn syrup in IMHO should be avoided at all costs!
Cane sugar that is not processed in moderation is not so bad. Its the processing of sugar that makes it so bad.
In tropical places you can get fresh pressed pure case juice which is quite yummy. In Hawaii we used to juice it w/ fresh lime and ginger…..so good!
Growing up on the border, I’ve always loved the Mexican Coca-Cola. It’s the best!
the hispanics here think anyone is nuts who drinks the bottles that were made in the U.S. I haven’t tired the ones from Mexico (mainly because I rarely drink pop) but hear its way better. Its more expensive too. I also heard that the different locations of where in the U.S its bottled will make a difference, at the time people thought it was the water used. I heard New Jersey put out a good tasting cola.
Forgive me if I am misstating…but I ‘think’ (wasn’t paying close attention)..that I heard on the news about a week or so ago..that either Coke or Pepsi had decided to ‘change’ their formula to make the soft drink ‘healthier’.
The reason I even remember is because I thought at the time….’uhhuh…right…and remember the ‘last’ time you changed the formula? How’d ‘that’ work for ya???’
As said…I know I heard it but not sure if it was Coke or Pepsi…and remember wondering…just ‘how’ they intended to do this. Maybe this was the reason? To exchange processed sugar for pure cane???
Same here, Skittles. I drank Coca-cola for years, and stopped drinking it a few months ago. When I saw the cola in the glass bottle just a few days ago, I couldn’t resist. Then I discovered it was the Mexican cola, which is made with pure cane sugar! Now I’m off the wagon again.
I agree, American food is made with too many dangerous and non-nutritional ingredients: soy, guar gum, lecithin, whey, corn oil, corn sugar, all of the hormones pumped into milk, chicken, pigs, and cows, etc. American food is practically made mostly with chemicals than with whole, natural ingredients. We’re more interested in cheap labor and in saving money than we are with the health and well being of our citizens….Sad.
