Joy Mangano Mop
From what I can see in the pics for Joy’s Miracle Mop is its not a new concept at all. I have, as best I can tell, a very similar unit that is like 5-6 years old. I think either O Cedar or Liebman manufactured it. If that is what it is it does not work, you end up with a knob, the mop part doesn’t spread out. The one I have operates this way, put it in the mop water then there is a twist thing on the handle to wring the mop out…..the mop strings get all tangled up and its a knob……mine is in the garage, the only thing I can use it for is washing my home’s exterior windows. Hope hers has a much improved, like 100%, better operation. I’ll wait for reviews to come in before even thinking about a purchase. I have no idea if the one I have is still being made, surely not….it was simply a waste of money, an engineering/design failure. Best of luck to those who buy Joy’s.
OK may I just say I have had this only for a few hours honestly. But this is my first impression of it:
It is heavy duty and I think will last a looong time. It has a lock and unlock which is different. It takes a bit of time to get used to it and I played and played with it until I figured it out. But then it just is great! It goes under your cabinets (with out scratching) and mops wonderfuly there and against the baseboards and mops great there. It fits under stuff which is cool. It picked up the doggy hair! What I didn’t like was the locking unlocking grippers; I think that perhaps that could be a teensy bit easier and maybe not so large around so that those with smaller hands can work it. That probably will be the thing that makes or breaks this particular mop for some as it is a bit of a workout to use it, to lock and unlock ect. It is heavy in weight and so you feel the heartbeat ramp up. But geez I need that! Every mop has it’s up and has it’s down; so far the up parts are taking the lead.
By the way…
I have a cleaning business so it is going to get used and abused and I will be either cursing it or happy to have it. Time will tell.
I have used the HSN Spin Mop for years, don’t think I will purchase Joy’s product, and if I read correctly, each item was a seperate purchase.
I think Joy’s mop is fine. She must have a good hairdresser….Ronnie
THE WAY HER OTHER PRODUCTS DONT HOLD UP, IT’LL BE A MIRACLE IF IT WORKS. DOES SHE (HA HA) MOP HER OWN FLOORS?!!! HSN SOLD THE "SMART MOP" FOR MANY YRS & I BOUGHT ONE & LOVED IT.
I too believe Joy’s Mop was actually the original design of this mop – it flew off the shelves so to speak and am sure others copied it somewhat. It was at least 20 years ago when she came out with this – if not 20, pretty close to that far back.
I think Joy’s was first presented 25 years ago. Some people may have copied like they do her hangers. I would like to hear from someone who actually used her original. I have seen similar ones in stores but not the miracle mop.
not buying one no mop is worth $20 and the bucket $15 lol i don’t care if she has 2 movies
OH, control yourself….tie your hands behind you….
Perhaps. But with Hollywood, the Movie, all of the publicity, attention and accolades .… We Will Have To Buy This Mop, the purses, hair dryers and everything else. Guaranteed! We won’t be able to laugh, jest and snicker as some of us have done in the past. We are going to have to buy them and plenty of them. I’m getting All of my credit cards out now. :womanlol:
