Joy Mangano leaving HSN?
Early this month, Joy was presenting “the very last ever” deal by the dozens on her huggable hangers. Then today, she and Iman presented the “last edition” of their collaboration. Neither is scheduled for next year yet. I have to wonder if Joy and/or Iman are leaving HSN. Does anyone else have any insight or heard either of them speak of leaving?

I loved her readers. I think I bought 3-4 different sets and I’m always losing them so I’ll need more. Where can I go to get that quality and style? The price was unbeatable for that quality.
Liked her hangers but not all the junk that came with them. I just wanted hangers.
-
I replied to someone else that the patent on the Huggable Hangers ran out about 10+ years ago. You can buy the hangers just about anywhere. Great quality and colors too out there. For about a third or half of Joy’s price. TJMAX, Target, any department store that sells clothing.

I heard about Joy leaving HSN a few months ago. I heard it from someone I know who works at HSN. Apparently Joy had been getting too pushy and demanding and wanting more and more elaborate sets and loads of changes and HSN got fed up!
-
I think some of the vendors do over exaggerate their items and try to make them comparable to high end products. You can find high end products on sale if you wait, and they are not always on HSN either.
-
Sometimes QVC and HSN do offer package deals that are much better than any online or brick and mortar store. I research before I buy big ticket items.
-
-
I missed the hints, but with the QVC merger, I wouldn’t be surprised – if memory serves me, QVC did her wrong, very early on.

Hard to keep up with the changes at HSN – feel sorry for all the hosts and hostesses who must be nervous right now. Popular Bill Green – so solid and productive on air – was among the first to be taken off the air and then put out to pasture probably because of his age (well into his 60s I am guessing) to twist in the wind and seek work as a senior. As for the end of Joy, it’s hard not to like and admire her despite her shrill overtalking most of the time she was on air! She thoughtlessly relegated the talented and well liked Iman to just stand there mute whenever the two of them were hawking a joint bag venture, very occasionally giving her credit for any contribution to the project. Overall, her quality was spotty but you get what you pay for. Some of her luggage, despite looking attractive, was too often a disaster of poor cheap workmanship and function failure and my experience was that remedying any such experience was always difficult and everlasting. Strict quality control seemed to just be absent for some of Joy’s products. All that said, she leaves a lot of loyal fans behind who, like me, wish her well whatever she next intends to do. Her huggable hangers -loaded in my closets – are the best!

Possibly QVC? The Beekman Boys jumped over here from QVC, it! Is on both channels now.
-
Beekman came over to HSN from Evine and they are not on QVC
-
Beekman’s has a TS on QVC about 3 weeks ago. Full goat presentation and all. Their first shopping network experience was QVC then they left and went to Evine. Now back full circle seeing that HSN and QVC are owned by the same company. Some vendors are being shared by both networks: Dooney, Clark’s, Bare Minerals, Doll 10, Sketchers, Vince Camuto, Beekman’s and others.

I was not a fan of her bags although I got sucked in to various presentations. That being said, HSN what a tacky way to handle a departure. I understand that we are not privy to the intimate details but have the decency to make a public statement. I also need to say, I loved her better beauty cases, steamer, hangers and storage sets.
-
I agree. We deserved better than.
-
-
The other day they had Joy like products, but her name was not associated it it. Looks like a lot of changes are being made since the “merger”.
-
I HOPE SO.
-
So what about all the scam “coupons” that went with the huggable hanger deal?
-
Joy might sell a lot but what percentage does HSN get back in returns. They had to receive a lot of the miracle cleaner back. Her prices seem oddly high on most products imo. About a month ago I saw Joy comparing her quilted polyester tote to $1,000 bag. Yeah okay. Bobbi was with her at the time and didn’t say anything. Usually the hosts agree with everything but I think Bobbi knew how ridiculous that was.
-
I’m not defending Joy, she doesn’t need my help, but you think her prices seem high? REALLY? In spite of what a lot of people think her bags ARE 100% leather. She wouldn’t put her reputation on the line by not selling what she says she is selling AND there are labels inside. 79.99 for 2 leather bags isn’t high no matter what the quality of the leather is. When she compares her bags to Designer bags she isn’t doing it for the benefit of those who can afford the designer bags. Read the reviews of the last TS. a lot…A LOT of people are swooning over that set. We may not see it exactly the same way but there are so many people that really think they are lucky to get these “couture” bags at a bargain price.
The Miracle Clean is a whole different story. Everyone that stood there and said it smelled GREAT lied as far as I’m concerned
-
She has already ruined her reputation by all of the lies that she tells. She sells plastic fragrance discs for $20 and one package of wax warmer cubes for $10. Her package of towels are up to $120. The prices do bounce around a lot but not that much lower. For her to say her bags are on par with high quality bags is the biggest lie of all. Better quality means better leather. It is rare that her products get over 3 stars and most of those great reviews are planted. Don’t get me wrong, I do like some of her products she just seems so strange to me. Like her pillows and she originally said you don’t need a pillow case with them. yikes! I wish she used her miracle clean from years ago, added her new scents and she would have had a winner. Emma Fox used to have great leather but charged more. People would rather pay Joy’s price and then complain about the quality.
-
Her hangers are junk. All of mine snapped!
-
I have had lots of hangers snap off at the hook, it appears they are only designed for light weight tops. I also got suckered into buying another suitcase set because it looked so pretty. Quality was bad, bad, bad. I did not appreciate the fact also she was constantly stating it was a carry on, and customers were being told no by the airlines. I think she did make some good products. Iman would be wise to separate due to the control problem with quality. I think Joy had too many products. She should have kept to fewer products and better quality.

AGREE AND THIS WAS WAY BACK
-
Well I will miss her and I always thought her intentions were good.
-
-
So would all of Ingenuous Designs be leaving – that would be Ming Tsai, Keith Urban and his guitars usually are on around Christmas..
-
This is a huge mistake she is the biggest seller on the network, so it doesn’t make sense. I wonder if she can brand her stuff on her own with her name since HSN bought her company years ago. Nothing on the web and no statement from Joy other than she is pursing other things. Which is just a marketing tool to not say they let her go.
-
Maybe Joy & Iman are going to Evine. Victoria Weick and Sharif have. Now he really had the best handbags. Pricey but, trust me, you never saw yourself coming and going.
-
-
This is a HUGE mistake. I buy Joy’s products every year for myself and my family. Can’t say I will remain a loyal customer, at least not as much as I am now. Bye Joy, you were great! Hope I can catch you somewhere else.

HSN has owned the company Joy started since 1999, and is now shutting that company down for “economic” reasons. Joy has essentially been a HSN employee this whole time as a presenter. Huggable Hangers, My Little Steamer, and some other products will still be sold on HSN.
