Injuring myself wearing Steve Madden maryjane wedge
Has anyone else sustained an injury while wearing these shoes?
Hi bootcrazy, we’re checking on this issue and will post more information when it is available. Thank you for your patience.
I tried Steve Madden shoes.
I was so happy to receive them only to be disappointed.
I put the shoes on the kitchen. I took a few steps and grabbed the stove.
I took the shoes off and discovered the shoes have a piece a felt on the middle of the bottom of the sole.
Who puts felt on shoe soles?
Felt on the bottom of shoe soles and flooring is not a good combination!
It is a receipe for a fall!
Wedge or not, this fabric that these shoes are made from are all over the place under MANY names…and that’s the thing…it’s going to stretch…and there is no support to it at all. I tried a pair similar locally and said oh *bleep* no…there is no structure to these shoes at all. A flat, maybe…but anything higher than that…they are dangerous.
I’m sorry that this happened to you CC52.
Hi CC52, sorry you injured yourself on this shoe. The materials that this shoe is made of is not new and the stretching problem is not new. Once the material stretches out it does not contract and your feet are no longer stabilized. The mixture of this stretchy material on a wedge is not good idea. I sustained a sprained ankle wearing a shoe made of this material and a wedge some years ago (not a Steve Madden shoe). I am glad you posted so others can become aware of this issue. Hope you heal quickly from your injuries.
I WONT WEAR ANY WEDGE SHOES. THE HEEL BOTTOM IS TAPERED ON THE BOTTOM & SHOULD BE WIDER!!!! I ALSO AGREE ABOUT COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. I HAD (NOT FROM HSN) FLIP FLOPS MADE IN CHINA. I KEPT THEM NEXT TO MY BED AND KEPT SMELLING GASOLINE ALL NITE. COULDN’T FIGURE OUT WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. IT WAS THE FLIPFLOPS!! I THREW THEM AWAY. BUYER BEWARE…
I know there’s another thread, Just A Suggestion About Shoes, but I’ll make my comment here. I think it comes down to cheap labor and poor quality. Unfortunately, most American shoes are made in China. For the past several years products made in China have caused all kinds of problems, from health issues to inferior quality of items. Just today, I heard on the news that lumber out of China into this country is treated with dangerous levels of formaldehyde that could adversely affect your health.
I think Steve Madden shoes are made in China. My suggestion would be to check the label of the shoes to see in what country they are made. If the shoes are made in China, buyer beware.
Thanks! for making everyone aware of this problem.
Please feel better soon,that’s awful.
These were comfort shoes. The fabric they are made from stretches and your foor falls off the side. It is a totally enclosed shoe. I hope no one else gets injured.
O I am so sorry to hear that I hope you feel better soon . I myself wear Joan Boyce shoes they are easy for me to walk in . She makes kitten heels Once again please take care.
I do not wear high heels as I am tall. I am sorry that you hurt yourself in the shoes.
If the shoes are defective, I would call customer service right away and see about returning them.
I wore them out for the first time today and about a block from the house the fabric stretched and I fell .The injuries are like what you would receive from a biking accident. My right knee is cut up and swollen and my right thumb.Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I am concerned that someone will break something.
How did you and what kind of injury.
