HSN "Sale" Not Really…..
I am highly confused and disappointed with HSN. To start I tried to get credit with them about 2 months ago to buy a camera. I was declined. Ok I want upset. Then I get a letter in the mail one day saying im pre approved for an HSN card. Again i cant complain but its a little odd. So yesterday I finally go to use my card as I see a purse I love and YEA! its on sale 25% off! I got such a good price I figure why not, I’m gonna get the matching wallet which is also on sale. And to my surprise the card gets declined. Im like wait I still have almost double what the price is as avail credit on my card so what the heck? So I call today only to get told (and later read it in the fine print of the sale terms) that your card, I’m guessing no matter what type you pay with gets charged the full amount and then the discount gets reflected later. This seems like seriously unfair business practice. It means I cannot get the item I want unless I either pay another way or wait until after they reflect the discount and then guess what? The sale will be over. I dont know a store in america that says hey we have a half off sale today but we are going to charge you full price and tomorrow why dont you come back and we will give you the difference back. Its crap! Im seriously unhappy with this. No matter what I would have done I could not have got both items I wanted as my credit limit was only enough to cover the sale price of both items combined and not the full price as they are trying to charge in advance. Its misleading as well because when I hit checkout i see a total amount of $100 for example but really Im getting charge $150. UNKOWINGLY So I go on like a mindless consumer saying hey I can still spend $100 more dollars! Regardless if it was a credit card that had a set limit or say I was using a debit card? Then I would be even more pissed off because lets say I live on a severe budget and I know I can spend only 50 on something and HSN says its on sale for that price but I get charged the full price and I have to use that extra money for something else? It would tie it up on my account for however many days it takes them to credit it back which in turn can cause a whole spiral of chain events putting me into financial ruin. I am trying to rebuild credit (and starting to ask myself why now) And if it wasnt for that I would NOT EVEN SHOP HERE. This is actually THE FIRST TIME IVE EVER shopped on hsn. My credit is so poor I have resorted to desperate measures to rebuild it any way I can (which was why I happily took their card offer)and its costing me, in more ways than monetarily and, I am like I said beginning to rethink why? And Im wondering how badly I need that purse now…..
They are teaching you valuable lessons, verry quickly.
