HSN doesn't care
I flooded on Aug 13,2016 after spending A LOT of money on my favorite Anna Griffin, Sara Davies, the Memory Makers cabinet. Just to see if HSN has a heart, I contacted CS, Explained my loss, offered to send pictures of collapsed cabinets with standing water, and asked if they had any returns or damaged paper products they might be willing to donate or sell at discount. Was firmly told NO. I lost 43 years of marriage related pictures plus mine and hubby’s school pics and his Vietnam pics also. I make cards for Soldiers for all holidays and Birthdays – male & female. Disappointed in HSN.

Yes, my mistake, we flooded August 13th 2016. No I don’t have second sight to predict the future, if I did I would have moved my valuables to a safer place.
I did not say HSN was under any obligation to donate – no person or business is as far as I am aware. I asked about damaged goods or any returns that I could get at a cheaper price..
I guess the most upsetting part of it was the dis-interested and could care less attitude I perceived in their reply.
I am sorry for your loss in the fire. Our flood waters were declared contaminated by FEMA so everything that could not be washed with antibacterials had to be discarded. We were evacuated by boat and could not come back for days. By then mold, mildew, and who knows what else had started growing everywhere..
I was a small business person myself and always had people coming in needing money for gas because they ran out of gas just down the road. We started keeping 5 gallon gas cans with gas in them in the outside store room to offer them. You would be surprised at the number of people that back out of the store saying thanks anyway but they preferred to buy their own gas, some saying nothing at all and leaving, or always the special ones that left cursing us out..
I’m not sure I understand. It is just May and you flooded in August of 2017? I’m sorry you suffered or are going to? suffer a loss. I lost everything to a fire, so understand. But HSN is under no obligation to donate because you did. I know from being a business person myself that even on a small scale, we were still asked for donations for some cause almost every single day. So this is not fair to them at all.
I hope friends and family can help with pics. That’s how we replaced a number of ours. Good luck.
