For those who canceled their HSN Bank Cards here is an alternative…
Just a suggestion:
Perhaps those canceling their HSN cards because of being hit with interest for flex pays should consider using a credit or debit Bank Card like Visa or MasterCard.
Both Visa and MasterCard are accepted by HSN and for those who may not qualify for a credit card or have poor credit history problems then just open a Visa Card Bank checking account with your own favorite Bank, and tell them you want to also get their Visa Checking Account Bank Card mailed to your home address.
The Bank does not do credit checks and will sign you up for a Bank debit checking account with a Bank debit Visa or MasterCard.
Many U.S. Banks just require a little over $100.00 to open a Bank Visa or MasterCard checking account, and they do not require any credit checks at all. That money is for the paperwork and filing fee to open the checking Bank Debit Account with debit Visa or MasterCard.
You will need to establish a password, which you should definitely change and assign one you prefer to use, so call your Bank’s Customer Service line and request they email you a link to change the password they already assigned to your Debit Bank Account, and you should also be able to check you Bank Checking account transactions on the internet after you sign up and get your Bank debit checking account. Never tell the Bank or anyone else what your own personally chosen password is.
if you don’t use or want the Bank’s checking account checks made out in your name and also mailed to your home address then tell the Bank Rep that you have no need to receive the Bank checking account checks, but do want the Bank Visa Card or MasterCard, whichever they offer.
“Most all Banks offer Visa debit Cards so check before you open a U.S. Bank checking account to assure the Bank Checking Debit card you will be getting in the mail from that Bank Card debit Company is the one you want, and that one is accepted everywhere you make an in person purchase using your Bank debit card, or an over the internet Debit Card purchase.
Just remember if you make any in person or Internet purchases you must have that money already deposited into your debit card Bank checking account or your purchases will be declined. So either call and ask your Bank’s Customer Service line for that information or just sign into your Bank’s Internet Account and always check you transactions and active balance as well as available balance left which is the money amount you can still use to charge purchases.
P.S. Your current Bank balance minus your Bank’s available balance will display the money amount on hold for purchases you have already made which are still pending….
Many Banks also offer regular Visa & MasterCard credit cards so also check if interested in securing a Bank credit card but of course then your credit history will be pinged…….or just call Visa or MasterCard directly using their 800 telephone # and discuss this with them.
I hope this information is useful for all HSN Members, and I wish mucho luck to all.
SORRY THAT HAPPENED TO YOU DYNAC, BUT OTHERS I SPOKE TO SAID THAT NEVER HAPPENED WHEN THEY USED THEIR BANK CHECKING ACCOUNT DEBIT VISA CARDS ON HSN.COM, AND MADE THEIR HSN.COM INTERNET PURCHASES.
YES IT PROBABLY CAN OCCUR BUT JUST DIDN’T TO THOSE HSN MEMBER FRIENDS I SPOKE WITH WHO USE THEIR BANK VISA DEBIT CHECKING ACCOUNT CARDS AND BUY ON HSN.COM VIA THE INTERNET.
Just remember to have extra on the card because the way HSN bills can cause a decline.Recently I ordered an item was free shipping but when the authorization goes through the shipping will still be added to the price and drop off later..For that reason I do not use anything but my credit card to purchase here. Also I have seen some post that a discount will not show till later either so its best to always assume you are going to be hit with full costs and later deducted.I would be terrified to use my bank card on here thats connected to my checking account.Prepaid is a good way to go if you have no other options but one would likely need to keep an extra amount on the card just to cover things like that.
