Favorite and least favorite moments at the Oscars
Favorite: J.K. Simmons win for his great performance in Whiplash.
Patricia Arquette’s win and her great speech, which brought a standing ovation.
Least Fave: So tired of looking at Jennifer Lopez’s boobs. I know she’s very proud of them; we females all have them. Please put them away. It IS possible to dress chic and still be sexy.
A couple of comments on the Oscar’s. I found it somewhat boring and fell asleep at one point. I am not a fan of NPH. I dislike his comments, especially after American Sniper saying it was a slow mornig with the number of sniper kills. Chris Kyle’s wife was sitting in the audience. Does he not have a brain in his head or any fellings for othe people? The lady lost her husband defending this country and the father of her children. HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CLASS!
The best of the entire program was Lady Gaga. I had not been a fan of hers until that night. She has a beautiful voice and was totally delightful. Her intro to Julie Andrews shows what class is and does.
Finally, they need to shorten these Oscar’s. It is becoming a political forum for many groups, going all the way back to Marlon Brando. Not cool.
The pre Oscar with fp Kelly, g, English lady, and Chloe k. Chloe said the talk etc was boring and it was. Chloe was the best one. The English lady loved everything. G and k were not funny or entertaining.
Completely agree. Lady Gaga showed class, taste and a love for the craft.
Re Lady Gaga — Tony Bennett was at a performance of hers and sent word he wanted to meet her afterward. She was blown away. At that meeting he said he wanted to work with her. I believe they have recorded 2 albums and they have been guests together on several talk shows. Yes, the Lady has a lot.of depth to her!
My favorite moment was when NPH walked onto the stage in his underwear. Hilarious!
My least favorite moment would have been Angelina Jolie. Thank goodness she wasn’t there.
Loved the fashion of course, loved lots of moments but really liked the tremendouse applause Julie Andrews received. I also though she looked terrific.
My least favorite was seeing Neil in his undies, not something I wanted to see. I think he did a great job otherwise but that spoiled it for me.
FAVE : Idina Menzel’s comeback to last year’s John Travolta namegate (when he called her Adele Dazeem)
LEAST: The awkward moment of Neil Patrick’s ill timed joke after the woman who had just announced she was dedicating her oscar to her son who had committed suicide.
I loved the fashion this year. Most of the actresses wore beautiful glamorous gowns. I didn’t know Lady Gaga had such a melodious beautiful voice. She was the surprise hit for me. It was also a wonderful moment when Julie Andrews walked onto the stage after Lady Gaga paid tribute to Julie Andrews’s songs in The Sound of Music.
Agreed with all of the above, Tempo. I’m also sick & tired of the ‘host antics’. It seems whoever does the show has to do these ridiculous skits. UGH. Shut-up and give the people who win their RIGHTFUL moment to shine instead of rushing them so much to get off the stage. Okay, I’m off my soapbox now, *lol*.
Oh… and I have to add– Neil Patrick Harris in his underwear? WTF???
