Disappointed in Disney/HSN partnership
I guess I’ll get beaten up on this, but I can’t help but feel disappointed that HSN and Disney, and my favorite vendors like Heidi Daus, are partnering up on this Disney movie thing. This major company has been forcing american workers to train their replacements. The americans lose their jobs to lower paid foreign workers. This is so wrong.
For me, it’s birds of a feather.
I won’t beat you up…everyone has a right to their opinion….But I was thrilled with the pairing…..with all the craziness and unhappiness in the world today, we need some hope and magic in our lives….what better way to get some with Disney & Daus….
Your post is both sad and hateful at the same time.
Walt Disney was the first to market and brand his name. This all started with Mickey Mouse.
I love Disney and Heidi Daus together. The perfect blend.
So were all the other vendors is was fantastic.:smileyhappy:
No worries no will will beat you up. Have a great day.
I wasn’t even aware of this. It’s ok to stand up for what you believe in. I don’t like to hear when Americans lose their jobs. HSN has no control over that, but I do get the bigger picture you’re trying to relay.
I learned something new today.
I did not see hate in your post, but truth. Thank you for sharing. I wasn’t aware of it before you mentioned it, and agree with you 100%.
I did not know this about Disney, thanks for bringing this up. These are the types of discussions that can help bring needed changes.
Mass movie promotions through merchandise have been going on for decades. Big corps are usually only looking for ways to make more money.
I know we need to take care of our people here in the US.
People in China and other countries need to eat too. The corporate mind needs serious healing. The greed that rules the world needs to be replaced with love. There are countless win/win solutions. Have you ever written a CEO and shared your views?
With the buying power HSN has it would be great to see some American Made high quality product lines. But be aware that where there are factories, there will be more polution.
I have been to China twice. It is very hard to breathe there. The air is dreadful and the poverty is staggering.
I do not view foreiners as not being my people. We are all one family here on Earth. I’m not supporting Americans getting canned to be outsourced either. I am not in support of the class system. The distribution of wealth has been out of whack for longer than I can trace back.
Your shopping dollars are powerful.
But where does it end? Credit card companies have outsourced to other countries and left so many people w/out work. And most of us use credit cards. Whole Foods sells so called organic frozen veggies that say from China on them… we could go on and on.
I act locally and think globally. I actually know a few people that have worked for Disney and Lucas. They have successfully started up their own companies here in the US.
It just is not always so black and white but with love and respect the whole paradim can change to be more honoring of all people.
I do not fault HSN for these movie collaborations. HSN has to make money to stay afloat. They are not the cause of the issue and frankly to support your position they would have to can most of the products and vendors that they sell.
Heidi Daus for example has been having her jewerly made in China maybe since the start.
It is a much vaster issue than teaming w/ Disney.
I have enjoyed seeing the creativity that this latest Disney Collaboration inspired. I agree that Americans need more jobs.
I feel we should strengthen ourselves first, then move towards helping others.
It is the world we live in. Nations have specialities. No nation can or is willing to manufacture as cheaply as does some. Hungry workers from other countries come here to work. They are willing to work for low pay and no unions. Big companies are pressured to show shareholders big profits, so the American working class loses.
USA takes the lead in Nations building (some say war and destruction) and policing.
I think the problem or issue goes far beyond Disney and HSN.
That said, I am not a fan of Disney, but many people are.
