Did you know you are charged immediately upon placing your order and not when it is shipped?
Did you know that HSN charges your cc immediately upon purchase and doesn’t post it as a “pending” charge until order ships? I may be the only person, but I am outraged by this policy. I’ve placed many an order with Amazon, QVC, Target, etc. and they ALWAYS post it as a pending charge until the order is shipped. I placed 3 orders on Oct. 5th of which none have been shipped yet I just received my statement and charges for all 3 orders were made on Oct. 5th. After a lengthy discussion with a CS Supervisor I have been refunded and the orders have been canceled. But still, HSN needs to change this policy. If you agree, post your thoughts and hopefully the higher ups at HSN will change their policy!
HSN does bill your credit card at the time of order they been doing it for ever. if you order an item that’s on extended delrvery HSN still Bill’s your credit card , you may get your bill before your package arrives. no one is calling Florida attorney general to stop HSN so they continue charging our card. they are paid right away.
I seriously think at this point I will be on my 3rd flex pay before I get the item I ordered. I absolutely was charged, not an auth hold for the first payment. I ordered a comforter, the most I have ever spent for like item to go with a brand new bed ordered from QVC. I received white glove service on my bed that was ordered one week prior to this order. The bed has arrived but my payment with QVC had not been taken and the order said processing. I called and said hey bed is here, take your payment!! They did take it after I called. Now that is the other end of the spectrum but I truly feel until an item ships there should only be an Auth charge which was not the case with my order that I am waiting on here at HSN.
You go tamrick..I agree with you 100+++ times..I also come from a long career in banking!
FYI: TODAY I asked a CS rep if they did this and she said “No. We charge when the item is SHIPPED and not before”.
Considering HSN’s history the past month and the lies they’ve told from the top down….I have NO IDEA who to believe anymore. All I know is I have charges galore for items I don’t have so….there ya go.
Yes I knew that and the only time they don’t charge you is if it’s on back order or waitlisted . The assumption is something is going to ship within a day or two and I don’t mind if they ship it right away but when something sets in packaging for a week and another two weeks to ship I do mind it . I just got my bill and there’s a charge for something I don’t even have yet and then it makes the flex pay come around way too soon . It’s only been a problem because of the upgrade up some of the warehouses . Maybe they should charge us once the item ships. I have started canceling anything that tells me it will be delayed or extended shipping. I don’t believe they charge for the extended shipping . But having said the above it’s better than shopping at a retail store were you pay immediatel. But I’m hoping they will have their new system up and working before Christmas shopping which actually has already begun. i’m going to be patient because they have told us what the new issues are . However I think the host should give us a heads up if an item is to be extended delivery.
I agree with you 100%. They have no business charging us before items ship. Even under “normal” circumstances; you’re still faced with them having your money, 2-3 days before items ship; but especially with all the delays in shipping product going on, that it appears 1000’s are experiencing this month, that is an intolerable policy.
I think you are mistaken. While the charges could have been applied by mistake, the likely situation is that they were showing as pending when your statement was printed and mailed.
I have this happen to my card (from HSN and other retailer). The charges will appear on my printed statement, but if I look online, they are showing as pending.
HSN is doing nothing nefarious.
I really thought everyone did this.
I was not aware of HSN policy. I knew that other vendors did not charge your account until it was shipped. I see that for my order of brown leather leggings, they were shipped around the same time. Not sure if it would be that way for an order that was on hold. Would be nice for HSN to follow the others.
