What is taking place in Dallas right now creates such a deep grief. There’s no frame of reference for what’s taken place. When the FAA issued a “no fly” zone around Dallas…I felt my heart would stop. Some victims were taken to Parkland Hospital. The same hospital President Kennedy was taken Nov 22, 1963. It’s, currently, still an active crime scene. Police officers were targeted. 11 shot, 5 of whom have died. This is an American tragedy. Let’s link hearts. We’re stronger together than apart.
When this tragedy happened my heart sank. Not only for the victims in Dallas but also for me personally. My husband is a police worker and I fear for his life everyday, but I am also proud of his dedication. But in the midst of all of these emotions I was thankful for HSN. Because I turned on your station and the joy and beauty you presented lifted my spirits and diverted my thoughts to happier moments. The added bonus was watching Heidi Daus. She is a ray of sunshine for me and just a delight. So, thank you HSN and especially Heidi, for getting us through some tough times.
What a senseless act with devasting consequences. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims. I have no real words to express my sorrow and despair today.
Thanks Lady for Peace for starting this to let us express our grief and sorrow.
I’m an alumni of Univ of TX. I also have family in the Dallas area. This, indeed, causes a grief within all of us as a nation. My involvement in many social issues decades ago came flooding back into my memory. There truly is a “language” to tears. My family is like a small version “United Nations” as we have multiple nationalities and races. I’m grateful for your replies. You ladies are the best. The compassion, care, and unity you show is most necessary now. You’re role models to be duplicated. When I read what each of you wrote, the gratitude that swept over me was like a Tsunami.

Thank you, Lady4peace, for starting this thread. My heart goes out to Texas and our country. Prayers sent and will continue to pray.
I totally agree with you. When will it end? Prayers for the people and victims
I have family there too. Yes, everything going on is an American Tragedy!
This is a senseless tragedy once again…I fear this will only get worse before it gets better! I’m about 45 minutes away from Dallas and we were just shocked and heartbroken. This world is in full turmoil and the events happening in our own country nowadays are just terrible.
I totally agree Lady4Peace this is an American Tragedy! America is not just under attack by terrorists anymore, but by our own citizens! My prayers and thoughts go out to all the victims families.
As a native Texan, born and raised.
