Several years ago, an anchor on one of our local news channels said they do their hair and makeup themselves. And many of the anchors and meteorologists here are working from home. Don’t know about the shopping channels.

Hi ~ here in California I know everyone at TV and motion picture studios must wear masks and gloves when not on camera. IATSE skeleton crews work in them, including makeup artist, and a lot can be accomplished at the studio without having to go to a salon.
I think we’re going to be wearing masks, eye protection, and gloves for quite some time. And now with the invasion of the huge “Murder Hornets” (have you read about them?) we might have to arm ourselves with tennis racket size swatters. What’s next ~ designer “Hazmat Suits” in a variety of summer colors with tinted face shields to match?

I think many of them do it themselves. After being in front of the cameras for years, I’m sure they have perfected being able to take care of themselves instead of relying on being pampered all the time.

Shawn K and a couple of the other host on QVC said that they are having to do their own makeup, hair, etc. Calista was their hair stylist, I don’t know the name of the person that did their makeup, and due to Covid, the host are on their own. I know Kirsten has done a couple of Instagram videos of her getting ready, doing her makeup..
