UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY

On November 10th, The United States Marine Corps Birthday commemorates the establishment of the Continental Marines.

The United States Marine Corps, a branch of the United States Armed Forces, is responsible for providing power protection from the sea. They use the mobility of the United States Navy to deliver combined-arms task forces rapidly. The Continental Congress first established the Continental Marines on November 10, 1775, leading up to the American Revolution. Two battalions of Marines fought for independence both on land and at sea.

The Corps was abolished at the end of the Revolutionary War. However, on July 11, 1798, Congress ordered the creation of the Corps. Congress named it the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and directed that it be available for service under the Secretary of the Navy.

NATIONAL VANILLA CUPCAKE DAY

Cupcake lovers celebrate each year on National Vanilla Cupcake Day. These small cakes get their day on November 10th. Indulge in one or several.

Cup Cakes (different from Cupcakes (one-word)
Cupcakes can be traced back to 1796 when a recipe notation for a cake to be baked in small cups was written in American Cookery (by Amelia Simmons). The earliest known documentation of the term cupcake was in 1828 in Seventy-five Receipts for Pastry, Cakes, and Sweetmeats in Eliza Leslie’s Receipts cookbook.

Cupcakes were originally baked in heavy pottery cups. Today, some bakers still use individual ramekins, small coffee mugs, larger teacups, or other small ovenproof pottery-type dishes for baking their cupcakes.

Today, cupcakes are an art form. Bakers create elaborate decorations and displays utilizing a variety of ingredients. Whether they’re the centerpiece of a wedding, birthday, or anniversary cupcakes satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Colorful and fun, these single-serving delights offer a pleasing option when planning any celebration.

NATIONAL CIVIC PRIDE DAY | November 10

On November 10 we celebrate National Civic Pride Day and inspire everyone to promote the dynamic communities they live in.

NATIONAL FORGET-ME-NOT DAY

National Forget-Me-Not Day on November 10th reminds Americans of the sacrifices returning soldiers have made of body, blood, and limb. Created in 1921, the day reminds Americans that National Forget-Me-Not Day originally raised funds for services for returning injured soldiers. At the time, the existing hospitals were insufficient to support the numbers of returning disabled veterans.

The day serves to honor all past and current United States Military veterans who bear the permanent scars of battle.

Good day in the ‘burgh. I hope you feel rested. I am so glad we did not have a Game
yesterday. Lady oh boy we play the Raiders my brother favorite team this will be an
interesting game.

Moving forward OZ is a bit chilly today as to be expected. We will be in the 70’s by

We met with the owner for the bathroom remodel. Hubby was impressed with this person especially when he could actually show what the bathroom would look like when completed. This owner has family with him and behind him. They all have their expertise and licenses. I will need to box the linen closet and the one with light bulbs, candles and tools. Rather than make a decision of what stays and what goes, I will box everything and label. Decisions will be made following the renovation so there will be no hold up. All work will start next week beginning at 8am and end about 5 pm. The bathroom will take about two or three days depending upon what is found behind the walls. Hopefully, I will still have two closets. Maybe a little smaller, but a much larger bathroom. So I will start moving tomorrow morning and before seeing hubby will make a stop at the Farmer’s Market. Hubby will be getting intensive physical therapy once everything is in place. I am happy with our selection. They have everything from soup to nuts. In other words, I will not need to make a trip to either Lowe’s or Home Depot. Both of us enjoyed the way this thing works and how it all comes together.

It is cool here as I type with the temp at 60 degrees. This will soon fade to the 40s and from what I read, the temps will probably set a record for November 11th. By Wednesday we will be back to the 80s with the low in the 60s. Have a wonderful evening.

Good Evening Oz is a bit warmer tonight. 😎💕 Lady I had labs today and I needed
to fast. I hate needles but hey I am a solider I let them do the butterfly needle. 😎
I just needed to eat and I did not want a lot of food. Well tonight I had roast beef,
mash potatoes and Asparagus. 💕

I have been going all weekend and I forgot I had this appointment early this morning.
I am thankful I had not eaten anything in 12 hours. I already have my labs and they
perfect. 💕😎Lady I was on my computer and up popped a message test results I was
shocked that was fast and that is just the way I like it. 🎈

I am getting ready for all the test for the end of the year and the release from certain
doctors and I am doing a happy dance.

Good Evening of course I saved you a place you had already told me of your
travel plans and I know how that can go. I am glad you had safe travels. Taci that

My niece made it back safely from Atlanta to Colorado. I was very concerned due to
all that is going on. My niece flight was delayed but she arrived back to Atlanta safely.

I had labs today and already have my test results blew my mind. 😎🎈
Moving forward going to jump in the shower using my Korres Skincare. 💕

At a later day when things settle down I will tell you how my neighbor’s trip to Spain
went. 🎈I was watching her house and brought all her mail over she asked me to do
that. Let’s just say she had a great time.

It was very cold this morning. Temps were in the 40s and I had to raise the heat. Found that getting out of bed was very difficult with the layers of quilts. I missed an appointment with the Project Manager which wasn’t my fault. They were supposed to contact me before arriving. I thought I heard the phone ring around 8 am, but couldn’t move. However, I did check the phone calls and there was nothing. It was as if I didn’t hear the phone ring. Go figure. We now have an appointment for Friday. Over the weekend I will be undoing the two hallway closets.

Due to the weather, I phoned the rehab and said I was staying in. The wind last night nearly knocked me off my feet and it was still gusty most of the day. My blood must have thinned out from all the years that we have not travelled North (LOL).

I’m really excited about the new bathroom. I am now looking at wheelchairs that can go over the throne. This will make traveling a bit easier for hubs and also staying overnight at various hotels/motels when we are able to travel North or to take a cruise. Yes, we do have a commode for the overnights and it will travel with us.

No shopping today. I was shivering at the 40 degree temsp. Me, who could withstand the below zero temps. (LOL…..

Oodie I just had Labs today and I had to fast. I had a nice dinner feeling much better.
The nurse told me what to drink to make me feel normal again. 😎

I was blown away by how quick my labs came to me via their patient portal and it’s
just the way I like. 😎This is only the beginning some doctors I will never see again.
Also fine by me.

I am having tea anyway because I enjoy it. Oz weather is very iffy. I saw on the news
that Xango part of Florida was cold. I even heard that Iguanas were falling from the
trees I said oh dear. The news report say if you see one just leave them alone as they
are alright.

for shopping hoping it is a bit warmer. I know all too well how the changing weather can

Very happy your labs went well, you always ace all the tests, yay!👍 All they did for mom was take another x-ray. Next week they will take the cast off to look at the arm. She will probably have another one put on but it may be different so she can use her fingers more. We shall see.

I wanted to go out for Thanksgiving but I don’t think that’s too feasible for mom. She would probably have trouble eating so we will order out and eat at home.🦃 Me and sis will make a few extra sides and dessert.🥧 Any of your kids or family coming to your house?

Sheba, Is this the neighbor who had the accident in Greece? Hubs and I were chatting about how we have not been to Spain. Many great places to travel. Sorry about my confusion. I have been wanting to sleep at about 5pm pst which is about 11pm for me. I just need another week.

We were in Italy, Austria and Poland. By coincidence, it was fashion week in Milan and wow did I see “fashion in the wild”. Spikey heels, iridescent Channel bags and the new ones just released. Long thin legs that go on forever. That was just walking around. I was in jeans and sneakers….. lol.

Good Evening I love your post. Taci yes that is my friend/neighbor she never stops.
The Professor is a professional traveler she fell at the Airport in Greece and spent
three nights in the hospital there never got to see Greece. Anne spent four months
in rehab learning to walk again and she did she has been back to Europe at least
two times this was the longest. We have a lunch date next week and I will have more
details. I was watching her house and getting her mail. Well that’s what friends are for. LOL!

The answer to your question is Taci I am a Show Girl and that will never go away. 😎💕
I certainly have modeled some of the best clothes and I have cheekbones and legs for
days that is why I walk and work out so much. 💕😎 I don’t like to talk about it too much
as I don’t want anyone to think I am better then anyone or bragging hey I did this in the
past and I am proud of what I have accomplished in life. If you look at this thread you can
see a glimpse of how I feel about fashion. Music and Fashion has always been my passion. 😎💕

Guess we are both doing this and that. I did not visit hubs today. I have the Project Manager from the Renovation project scheduled for tomorrow morning. I did some work in the carport which included emptying packages which included a poodle statue for outdoors. That statue is so lifelike. Hubs will flip when he sees it.

Today was the best day yet for getting things done. Nothing like having someone to check on the bathroom. Now I will again return to the KP in the kitchen. Oh, before I forget. The necklace looks better on Heidi than the model. Beautiful piece, but a bit too heavy looking for me. I have a feeling that you have an eye on that one. I also noticed that there is a pre TS on one of Heidi’s pieces. Wonder if she will be returning for that TS. And speaking of sales. “Clean Boss” has been reduced. I purchased the four when it was a TS several weeks ago. I’m debating….

The temps were in the low 70s today and mid 50s for the nighttime. So good to feel the warmth of the sun with very little wind. It’s supposed to be a clear night and I hope I will be able to say hello to the moon and the starlit sky. Have a great evening. Back to work for me.

The women I saw walking on the stoney hard sidewalk in their very spikey heels and walking at a snails pace looked in a bit of pain and I don’t think they cared. Each had a Channel bag as well. It was so fun for me to see the sidewalk/train fashion.

You and Oodie were talking about Heidi’s latest items (and without me 🙂 Just kidding). I saw that huge Greek Key set and wow. At 1st I thought it was multiple necklaces stacked but oh no. Maybe Oodie will get it.
I wore Heidi’s snake earrings (love) to two concerts and they worked great for me.
Sadly, my luck was not as good with the gold plated Rarities earrings (with the turq set in it).
One earring broke at the connector after the 3rd wear. I really like them but was quoted about $70. to fix it, so hubs will try to drill and wire something up for me. For the price the joint should have been made stronger. So yah, my last Rarities purchase. But I do love em.

I do enjoy Heidi Daus. However, that necklace, though gorgeous, is too ornate for me. I could visualize my mom (RIP)wearing something like that. She enjoyed wearing something that was over the top. And to think she was %’@” and weighed 90lbs, Me. I am complete opposite with her taste in clothes and jewelry. Yes, I enjoy making a statement, but that type of necklace is one I would look at and not purchase. However, sometimes those items do pull at my heartstrings and I will make a purchase and call it great artistry and show it another way.

I am completely wiped out. It has been one of those weeks. I did meet with the Property Manager. What a nice person who took his time with me. We sat at the outdoor table and showed me pictures of our outside area. I am having problems with our new roof from the hurricanes last year. I liked the contractor I used, however, there are some areas on our lanai that leak when it rains. Hubs enjoys our lanai and loves to sit outside watching the birds on the lake along with an alligator when there is one. I just do not want him sitting in the rain and not being able to move fast enough. I knew what needs to be accomplished. However, it is a price point. He has scheduled a meeting with the owners and will get back to me on that issue. He also showed me the pictures on his computer on what our new bathroom will look like. I will be emptying the two hallway closets completely (the contractors will take care of the top shelves for me). I also need to remove everything from the carport. I think the cars can stay put, though I’m not so sure at the moment. This I will start to do tomorrow morning. I will then sweep and wash the area. I’m hoping to finish the job by Sunday. I will also be doing the same to our entry steps and the front door. The only thing I asked the Project Manager to do is to give me at least 48 hours notice as to when the people will be here to start the work. On the days that they are here, I will not be visiting hubs. Their work starts at 7:30/8 AM and they work until 5 pm in the evening. Hubs cannot wait.

I am now really tired. I was able to remove things blocking the inside of our front door. I was like a kid in a candy store opening box after box. The rubbish and recycle bins are now full. I keep forgetting that Monday is our pickup day for everything. This also includes the garden weeds and the flowering plants that will need to be pruned back so that the new growth can begin in our early spring (probably wishful thinking on my end. LOL).
