Conversation – 16

  • Sheba2011
  • 11.17.20 10:27 PM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

(Theme From) Valley of the Dolls
    Dionne Warwick

    Gotta get off, gonna get
Have to get off from this ride
    Gotta get hold, gonna get
Need to get hold of my pride
When did I get, where did I
How was I caught in this game
When will I know, where will I
How will I think of my name
When did I stop feeling sure, feeling safe
And start wondering why, wondering why
Is this a dream, am I here, where are you
What’s in back of the sky, why do we cry
    Gotta get off, gonna get
    Out of this merry-go-round
    Gotta get off, gonna get
Need to get on where I’m bound
When did I get, where did I
Why am I lost as a lamb
When will I know, where will I
How will I learn who I am
Is this a dream, am I here, where are you
Tell me, when will I know, how will I know
    When will I know why

      Butterfly
      Song by Mariah Carey

When you love someone so deeply
      They become your life
It’s easy to succumb to overwhelming fears inside
      Blindly I imagined I could
      Keep you under glass
Now I understand to hold you
I must open up my hands
      And watch you rise
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly, oh
      Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly
      I have learned that beauty
Has to flourish in the light
      Wild horses run unbridled
      Or their spirit dies
You have given me the courage
To be all that I can
And I truly feel your heart will
Lead you back to me when you’re
      Ready to land
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly, oh
      Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were ment to be
So spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly, butterfly
      I can’t pretend these tears
      Aren’t over flowing steadily
I can’t prevent this hurt from
      Almost overtaking me
But I will stand and say goodbye
      For you’ll never be mine
Until you know the way it feels to fly
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly, oh
      Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly, oh
      Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly
      So flutter through the sky
      Butterfly
      Fly
      Spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly

Nights in White Satin (The Night)
    Song by The Moody Blues

    Nights in white satin
    Never reaching the end
    Letters I’ve written
    Never meaning to send
    Beauty I’d always missed
    With these eyes before
    Just what the truth is
    I can’t say any more
    ‘Cause I love you
    Yes I love you
    Oh how I love you
Gazing at people, some hand in hand
Just what I’m going through they can’t understand
Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be, you will be in the end
    And I love you
    Yes I love you
    Oh how I love you
    Oh how I love you
    Nights in white satin
    Never reaching the end
    Letters I’ve written
    Never meaning to send
    Beauty I’ve always missed
    With these eyes before
    Just what the truth is
    I can’t say any more
    ‘Cause I love you
    Yes I love you
    Oh how I love you
    Oh how I love you
    ‘Cause I love you
    Yes I love you
    Oh how I love you
    Oh how I love you

    I’ll Be There for You
    The Rembrandts

So no one told you life was gonna be this way
    Your job’s a joke, you’re broke
    Your love life’s DOA
It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear
When it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month
    Or even your year, but
    I’ll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
    I’ll be there for you
    (Like I’ve been there before)
    I’ll be there for you
(‘Cause you’re there for me too)
You’re still in bed at ten
    And work began at eight
    You’ve burned your breakfast
So far, things are going great
Your mother warned you there’d be days like these
But she didn’t tell you when the world has brought
You down to your knees that
    I’ll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
    I’ll be there for you
    (Like I’ve been there before)
    I’ll be there for you
(‘Cause you’re there for me too)
No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you’re the only one who knows
What it’s like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
    Someone I’ll always laugh with
Even at my worst, I’m best with you, yeah
It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear
When it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month
    Or even your year
    I’ll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
    I’ll be there for you
    (Like I’ve been there before)
    I’ll be there for you
(‘Cause you’re there for me too)
    I’ll be there for you
    I’ll be there for you
    I’ll be there for you
(‘Cause you’re there for me too)

A Lot of Livin’ to Do
      Ann-Margret, Bobby Rydell, …

There are girls just ripe for some kissin’
And I mean to kiss me a few!
Oh, those girls don’t know what they’re missin’
I’ve got a lot of livin’ to do!
And there’s wine all ready for tastin’
And there’s Cadillacs all shiny and new!
Got to move, ’cause time is a wastin’
There’s such a lot of livin’ to do!
There’s music to play, places to go, people to see!
      Everything for you and me!
Life’s a ball, if only you know it!
And it’s all just waiting for you!
You’re alive, so go on and show it!

Sheba, Hello and awesome new thread. Love the fashion, pictures and inspirational posts.
Been traveling within Ca. We are back to masks on but I always wore mine anyways and happily.
Hope you have been well. Best with your appointments and hope they are over soon.

Hello all, hope you’ve been enjoying your wine and shopping.

      @sheba2011

Good evening. I like the beginning of your new thread. Glad that the dentist visit is over. They probably did some work under the gum line. I have that done every six months and if I brush correctly, does not bother me that much. Actually, there are many times that it really feels good.

Our day was not that busy. I had an appointment with an audiologist because I have had hearing issues. Since Covid, I feel my hearing has gotten worse. Actually, in comparison to the one I had a year ago, there was very little difference. However, he felt that there may be some underlying issues because some of the words become distorted and he wants to know why. So he recommended seeing an Ear, Nose and throat specialist. The place where I go for my mams has an alphabetical list miles long. One office is not that far from us and may be a good alternative.

Costco was extremely busy. I saw a few people had a frozen Butterball in their basket. However, I only purchase the fresh turkey because of preservatives in one that is frozen. Our Farmer’s Market is offering fresh turkeys that are antibiotic free, no preservatives, and only fed fresh, organic veggies and other fresh food. Nice little write up in their ad. These turkeys are not frozen but are cold and if you purchase tomorrow, they recommend putting it in the back of your frig and it is good to go for next week. After December 1st, they suggest freezing it.

While in Costco i checked out the Ninja Grill. I found that the cooking area was approximately the same size as my Philips Air Fryer. What I also didn’t like were the reviews saying that it was very smoky and the directions with the ones that had the meat thermometer were hard to understand. Most said that the meat thermometer didn’t work and they switched it to the one with out and found it much better. Philips does have a grill and it is a good size. I could make a complete dinner for two on that one and may purchase as something to use outside on the lanai. It’s something to think about since I’m not in a hurry to purchase. Truth be told, I have no place to store it at the moment. Hubby is laughing at me right now. “Says I must be sick, since when has that ever stopped me from purchasing.” Hmm…..”MEN.” 😢

Sheba, I will be thinking of you all day tomorrow. Your last mam was really good. I do not expect anything less than that tomorrow. The headache should vanish after everything is behind you. Oh forgot to mention. I purchased the skier by Heidi Daus. Could not resist. Oh how I really do miss the cold weather and snow. But on the other hand, I do not miss the shoveling and freezing while doing so.

      Feeling Overwhelmed

Always know, the Universe works in perfect order and you are never given more than you can handle.

Sometimes we may feel like there is just too much we need to do. Feeling overwhelmed may make it seem like the universe is picking on us, but the opposite is true: we are only given what we can handle. Difficult situations are opportunities to be our best selves, hone our skills and rise to the occasion.

The best place to start is to take a deep breath. As you do, remind yourself that the universe works in perfect order and therefore you can get everything done that needs to get done. As you exhale, release all the details that you have no control over. The universe with it’s infinite organizing power will orchestrate the right outcome. Anytime stress begins to creep up, remember to breathe through it with these thoughts.

Then, make a list of everything you need to do. Note what needs to be done first, and mark the things others may be able to do for you or with you. Though we often think no one else can do it correctly or well, there are times when it is worth it to exhale, let go of our control, and ask for help from professionals or friends. With the remaining things that feel you must do yourself, take another breath and determine their true importance. Sometimes they are things we’d like to do, but aren’t really necessary. After taking these quick steps, you will find you have a plan laid out, freeing you from frenzied thoughts circling in your head. With calming deep breaths, you are now free to focus more fully on our priorities. Herbal teas or flower remedies along with wise choices about caffeine and food can help keep us from becoming frantic too. But with nothing further from us than our breath, we can breathe in our best intentions and let the rest go with an exhale. Keeping ourselves centered and breathing into and through life’s challenges helps us learn what we are truly capable of doing, and we will find we have the ability to rise to any occasion. Remember you aren’t being picked on, and you are never alone. AMEN!

      Starting from Empty

Live your life as if your glass is half-full rather than half-empty, all you need is a change of thought.

We are all familiar with the metaphorical story of two people looking at the same glass and one perceiving it as half-full while the other sees it as half-empty. As much as we’ve heard this, it’s still a valuable exercise to really observe our minds and notice whether we are engaged in half-full or half-empty thinking. People will refer to themselves as being of one type or the other as if it was a permanent characteristic, but we are all capable of shifting into a half-full consciousness if we simply make the effort.

When we look at our lives with half-empty consciousness, we perceive a lack and think that the other half of what we want is missing. We are coming from a position of expectation and entitlement. On the other hand, when we look at our lives as half-full we perceive fullness. It is as if we recognize that our cup could be fully empty and so we are grateful for what we see as bounty — not something we expect or believe we are owed, but a gift. In half-full consciousness, we count our blessings. When we look at our lives we see all the elements that are in place and all the things we do have. This doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t seek more, but we seek from a place of fullness instead of from a place of lack. This fullness draws positive energy into our lives and often attracts more abundance.

If you would like to begin to make the shift into half-full consciousness, try imagining your life as an empty glass. This is your life without all the people you know, the work you do, your home, or your current state of physical wellbeing. This is just an empty, open space waiting to be filled. Once you have that feeling of openness in your mind, begin filling it with all the people, things, and places that make up your life. You may be surprised to find your glass overflowing.

I forgot to mention that I sent the spoonbill to you. I had seen him a few days ago and asked that he bring you good luck today. Guess he did, along with the good vibes from this thread.

Go kick up your heels and celebrate. Cannot say to go out and have a nice glass of wine with dinner until things get better. So, instead, maybe order out and have that glass of wine with Mr. Sheba by the fireplace after he gets home from work.

Congrats to your daughter and her new sidekick. You didn’t mention age or type. And is this the daughter in Georgia who recently lost her best friend? Oh, I’m so jealous. Well, back to work for me. I’ll write more later. Love the new thread. So easy to maneuver. No time outs thus far.

      @oodiebom,

So much is happening daughter just got the dog yesterday. I found a picture of the pooch.
      I want one I am jelly. 🤣

Daughter pooch is six weeks old and is female no name yet. Daughter said the dog reminds
her of Chloe and Foxy who both went to Rainbow Bridge. This child spends a fortune on her
dogs and she spears no cost to have them groom and well taken care of. Pre Covid-19
she traveled all over the world and USA for HBO. 😎This is the reason she lives in GA. HBO wanted
her in New York City she has done Europe and other places more times than I can remember.
Currently she is working from and thankful she does not have to travel like that. 😘💕

Oodie I enjoyed a great meal my husband brought home from work. l don’t drink and neither does he.
I just like pretty juices and drinks. 🌹

      @sheba2011

The baby is so precious. Six weeks is kind of young to leave his mom. I thought most left the nest at 8 wks. You know, I have heard of a teacup poodle, but not a pomeranian. A ball of fur. He/she will be so cuddly.

Poppy would probably enjoy another four legged friend in the house, especially when you and hubby are out and about. It’s just a thought, but could work.

Take care of yourselves. Stay safe.
