KITTENGIRL …. First Cherie is very sorry to read about your daughter’s condition. Prayers from San Diego, Cali … coming her way! We ALL got to share with Hubby’s Folks the loss of Simba which Flooded back sadness, but Sooo Many Great memories. We ALL understand we will see her again and the kids are OK knowing that. My work friend, (so Sweet of you to ask) is in a LOT of pain. She says she will be OK and will probably adopt another pet to Love. Cherie is amazed how you are preparing 2 homes to optimal conditions for the recovery of your Daughter and Baby Bull. Oh KITTENGIRL …. a bigger home would NEVER be as BIG as Your HEART!!

Very COOL LOAF …. Cherie heard that Swift’s tour is quite successful. Her third show or so, was right here in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl in May. Hope Mom in Law is continuing to recover. All the Best!

@Sheba,
How was your daughter’s birthday? Is she doing better now? She has still been in my prayers. Thank you for remembering about the upcoming surgery. I’ll update you with more later. I still hope you will see your bunny.I just got the kitten’s ashes back. I was not expecting the paw prints so that just tore me up. I miss all the little babies.
@Cherie, glad you had fun at Lego Land! Enjoy your summer with your kids! I hope you and your family are doing ok over Simba. You are still in my prayers. How is your friend doing?
@loaf and Taci, thank you for your kind words and concerns for the kittens and Baby Bull.
You are all so kind and I appreciate you. 😀

Hi Sheba, Now that I’ve updated you and the girls on Bull I want to fill you in on other things going on. My daughter has not been feeling well. She was in the ER last weekend after losing a lot of blood. She was diagnosed with Chron”s disease and is in a lot of pain and still bleeding. She has an appointment with a specialist tomorrow. I am relieved to know that soon she will be on the right meds but it may take a while to figure out which ones will work for her. I have been over at her house helping her get her house organized so her stress levels will be lowered as stress is a big trigger in this disease. Got rid of tons of excess clothes so her mornings will be easier. This coming weekend my husband and I, along with a friend are moving furniture around and trying to set up her room as a quiet sanctuary for her. She has needed this for a long time but especially now. Chron’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis tend to run in families. I have UC, and now she has Chron’s. They are awful but there are meds to help. I am allergic to the meds so I deal with periods of being ill and remission. My daughter does not have the allergy I have so she will be able to take the meds. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you.

Hi Sheba and Ladies! Hope you are all fine and doing well, enjoying your summer. Sheba, I was glad to read your labs went well! Yay! 😀 I haven’t been able to post as soon as I was hoping but things are well with Baby Bull. He will be 5 weeks old tomorrow! I can’t believe it! He is getting so big! Everyday he changes. He is very cuddly but still not eating on his own. We just started him on solid kitten food but he refuses it off a plate and only takes it by syringe. We put it on our fingers too to hopefully encourage him to eat otherwise. I guess it will take time. He is still loving and cuddling Walker’s teddybear and I know my Walker would be so happy about that. Walker’s teddybear has a little stuffed heart it can hold that says Hug Me. Walker melted everyone’s hearts in the ER when he was there. He had to be in an oxygen tank so he had his teddybear with him. He was so brave and loving. Soon Bull will be moving from the living room to the guest room as the living room is not the safest place for him with the sharp edges of the stone fireplace. Hopefully we get the ok from the vet to let the older kittens start mingling with the cats. They have had to be isolated because of their virus. As soon as that happens we will have the carpets steam cleaned and sanitized for Bull before he moves into the guest room because he won’t have any antibodies until he’s about 3 months old. He has to stay separated from all other cats until then. I wish I had a bigger home, it would be so much easier. Thanks for all the prayers. Shout out to Loaf, Cherie and Taci.

The Heart of Rock and Roll
Huey Lewis & the NewsNew York, New York, is everything they say
And no place that I’d rather be
Where else can you do a half a million things
All at a quarter to threeWhen they play their music, ooh that modern music
They like it with a lot of style
But it’s still that same old back beat rhythm
That really, really drives ’em wildThey say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I’ve seen I believe ’em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll, heart of rock and roll is still beatingLA, Hollywood, and the Sunset Strip
Is something everyone should see
Neon lights and the pretty pretty girls
All dressed so scantilyWhen they play their music
That hard rock music
They like it with a lot of flash
But it’s still that same old back beat rhythm
That really, really kicks ’em in theThey say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I’ve seen I believe ’em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll, heart of rock and roll is still beatingJohnny, aw
DC, San Antone and the Liberty Town, Boston and Baton Rouge
Tulsa, Austin, Oklahoma City, Seattle, San Francisco, too
Everywhere there’s music, real live music, bands with a million styles
But It’s still that some old rock and roll music
That really, really drives ’em wildThey say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I’ve seen I believe ’em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll, heart of rock and roll is still beating, yeahIn Cleveland

This Is Me – Keala Settle
Music from the Greatest ShowmanI am not a stranger to the dark
Hide away, they say
‘Cause we don’t want your broken parts
I’ve learned to be ashamed of all my scars
Run away, they say
No one’ll love you as you areBut I won’t let them break me down to dust
I know that there’s a place for us
For we are gloriousWhen the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is meOh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, ohAnother round of bullets hits my skin
Well, fire away ’cause today, I won’t let the shame sink in
We are bursting through the barricades and
Reaching for the sun (we are warriors)
Yeah, that’s what we’ve become (yeah, that’s what we’ve become)I won’t let them break me down to dust
I know that there’s a place for us
For we are gloriousWhen the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is meOh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh
This is me(Oh-oh-oh-oh) and I know that I deserve your love
(Oh-oh-oh-oh) ’cause there’s nothing I’m not worthy of
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh)
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
This is brave, this is proof
This is who I’m meant to be, this is meLook out ’cause here I come (look out ’cause here I come)
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum (marching on, marching, marching on)
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is meWhen the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I’m gonna send a flood
Gonna drown them out
Oh

The Ego
The ego is simply a way for us to understand and attend to ourselves, at the same time as we understand and attend to the world around us.
In most spiritual circles, the ego gets a pretty bad rap. The reason for this is that the ego, to some extent, is the principle in our psyches that separates us from one another, while spirit is the principle that shows us that no such separation exists. Sometimes the ego is depicted as an almost demonic figure that keeps us from realizing our true nature. But at its most basic, the ego is simply a tool that helps us organize the various aspects of our personality so that we can function in the world. In this sense, the ego is simply a way for us to understand and attend to ourselves at the same time as we understand and attend to the world around us. The ego is a tool that we use to navigate the world.
Perhaps the problem is that the ego sometimes gets out of control. This happens when the higher self loses control of the psyche. The psyche then falls under the leadership of the ego, an entity that was never meant to lead. The ego is meant to be definitively in the service of the higher self. When this relationship is functioning, the ego is a useful intermediary representing the whole self but not thinking that it is the whole self. Then, it is almost as if the ego is the self playfully pretending to be the separate entity called “I.” Like an actor, the ego plays the roles that the world asks us to play in order to be part of the program. In this way, the ego can be a tool enabling us to be in the world but not of it.
As long as we are in touch with our higher selves, our egos are not a threat. They are simply useful tools in the service of spirit. We keep our egos in check when we continually nurture our awareness of who we really are. Then our egos are free to serve without trying ineffectually to rule. It is healthy to have ego, but like all things in life, ego functions best when it is in balance and harmony with your whole self.
