Commenity Bank Update
After reading everyone’s concerns with paying their monthly bill and the possibility of finance charges on items that were still being added after the statement closure date but prior to the due date. I found out that some of us received a notice stating that finance charges would apply if you did not pay the new charges. This was at the bottom of your statement in May. But, because I receive a paperless statement, I never received this note. So, I went back to the May’s Statement on line and did find the note stating this would begin in July. Hmm…I payed my monthly statement in July without any problems. So, in August I watched the statements and paid part of the following month so I would not ensue the finance charges. That was all well and good until I noticed more charges and these were for next month’s flex payments and other HSN products purchased after the closing date of my statement. I then decided to make a phone call and spoke to a very nice customer service representative. Because of the problems coming from these new rules which included customer service at HSN and their customers they decided to go back to the way things were. So, pay your statements on time and you will not accrue finance charges. No need to concern yourself with new balances coming after a closing date. Those will not be due to the following month. I just hope I have clarified the information to all of you. Again, have any questions, contact Commenity Bank and their Customer Care Unit. I spoke with Julie today, September 3rd, 2017. She was very helpful and very knowledgeable.

Interesting read, Oodiebom, but I don’t know. More interesting reading if you do a search for “Top reviews and complaints about Comenity.” Not sure how to post a link.
Thanks, Oodiebom, but I canceled my card and have no interest in reinstating it. I never thought twice about Comenity until the change and it prompted me to do some research. As @ladyamara pointed out, there’s quite a lot out there about Comenity and their practices. After using my MasterCard for the last month or so, I am really loving the bonus points I am accruing AND I have cut my HSN spending to a fraction of what I spent in the past, especially since I rarely use FlexPay.
I pay the individual Flex-pays on HSN directly. I got a late charge PLUS interest even though I paid all my charges. I also am on paperless bill.
Good to know I’m not alone, so I’ll be calling Commenity Bank now!
