C/S requested return broken glass
I received the Signature Club A Magical Lavender Dual Action Primer this last Saturday. This is a 29.95 item, came in a flimsy paper thin box and a was shipped in a plastic shipping package. This arrived broken with broken glass and slimy primer in the package. When I called Customer Service, they requested me to return the item in a different package and pick out the broken glass and return it for a refund because there were no additional Primers avail. I confirmed “you want me to pick out the broken glass and chance cutting myself and return it and he stated YES. What about my safety and the safety of the employees opening the pkg? Do they not care? This seemed just a little odd such an inexpensive item. I wanted to just throw it away but they requested for the refund to scrape the broken glass out of the package, place it into another and return it. What am I to return it in, I don’t have any plastic envelopes, I would have to purchase one, so I just slipped it all back into the same package it came in to return it, it is up to them to pick out the broken pcs not me. I have been a customer for over 20 yrs, this is kind of petty to me. My Opinion. Watch out HSN employees in the return department, there is a shipment of broken glass on its way back to you. Handle with care. HSN does not care about the safety of anyone to request a person to pick out little pcs of broken glass to return it. My last order, they need to shop in better boxes or at least tape the box shut where it would not fall out of the flimsy paper thin box and break.
Surely this was a terribly misinformed employee who made this request. It’s wrong for so many reasons. It’s not only the risk of bleeding with stitches potentially required but also with the possibility of acquiring or transmitting a serious infection/disease. Not trying to be an alarmist but even with protective gear I would never ever consider handling broken glass in this manner. It’s just not worth the risk no matter the cost of the purchase.
Thank you for letting us know about this…I’m sorry you were subjected to this absurdity.
I requested this employee to consult a supervisor and he indicated he did. I agree with you for all the reasons indicated. You said it better than I did.
I’m very sorry to hear about this, judiwonder. I can assure you this is not our official policy and i’ll make sure this is forwarded for training. I reviewed the order and I see this has already been refunded, please go ahead and throw away the broken glass.
Seems this has been taken care of, but best to take a photo of the package, with broken glass and loose primer, so you have some proof for later on. Glad it has been resolved, and no, don’t ever touch broken glass (if you can help it). Sorry this happened.
