Bad experience with QVC
Would you cancel your account or stop shopping at HSN if you had a bad experience with QVC? I’ve been happy with HSN but now that they are under the same ownership, I do not want to support a business that does not care about their customers. There are so many other places to shop online and that I can give my business to.
I like QVC and HSN. I shop with both but with QVC more. I have never had a problem with either Customer Service Departments. I buy Dooney and Bourke from QVC along with other products. I have always wondered what HSN does with products that are returned by their customers. QVC sells them for a lesser price. Does anyone know?
Thank you, ladies, for your responses. I’m actually a long time customer of both of these sites and haven’t had a problem before. However, I haven’t ordered from the Q for about a year. Not that shopping is of huge importance in the grand scheme of things, but CS and how we treat others in life does matter… “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Maya Angelou
I think everyone just has unique experiences. I might have a bad experience with a particular company but thousands of others haven’t and rate them highly. I really haven’t had any problems with anyone to be honest. I only shop HSN occasionally, and QVC occasionally as well. I do most of my shopping with another large company where I get two day shipping. I have never received a wrong package, they have always arrived when they say they will. I have ordered crafts, home ware, shoes, electronics and pet supplies. The only thing I will not order from them is clothing because I feel clothing lends itself to more returns and I can’t be bothered returning clothing. Like any customer service, you get some great people who will go out of their way to help you and then there are others who wouldn’t help you if you were drowning.
If I felt the way you do, I’d shop elsewhere. However, I always receive excellent customer service from QVC and feel they go above and beyond to satisfy their customer. Because they make me feel like they value my business, I do 90% of my shopping at the Q and only 10% at HSN. That’s been my experience with QVC. Sorry you’ve had a bad experience.
I know exactly where you are coming from. I have shopped with all the prominent home shopping channels for many years and they have literally gone to the dogs. You are absolutely correct in that there are many other places to shop online or even at our local department stores with either the same items, better items, 20 to 30% off coupons, no shipping, some sites don’t charge tax, good quality and no paying out of the wazoo in shipping fees or return shipping fees. In addition, we don’t have to deal with host lying to our faces about a product or their lack of knowledge about a product. Would I cancel my account, I don’t think so because with my account I get to express myself to them either in the feedback section or writing a letter to corporate headquarters directly. I don’t shop a lot from these channels anymore but my most recent purchases were very disappointing in quality (particularly clothing) and I have decided that enough is enough.
@sista863 Thanks for letting me know your perspective. I have found the same: no tax, free shipping, and great deals from other companies. The nice thing about HSN is the variety of products you can find in one place, and that you can catch a good deal if you’re careful. I do think HSN is fun.
As for CS, I ‘m not sure why HSN has superior CS compared to QVC. I was only able to get help after I called in. The online representatives pretty much told me I was out of luck and to have a nice day. Although the issue was finally resolved, I would hesitate to buy there again after the way that the reps handled the situation. The Q must really be struggling to treat their customers that way.
