Attn HSN Card holders
First, Thank u again Lizzie818 for starting this very informative thread, HSNKyle thanks for your honesty in reporting back with us, lady Amora you explained it exactly as I explained it a few posts back. Now, I would like to add just as a courtesy to some of you who may be closing or thinking of closing all of your Commenity accounts. I say this to help you & no I don’t work for the company. I worked in the banking industry & credit card for many many years until I got ill & had to take an early retirement. For your own good, please do not cancel all of your credit cards at once as this will put a huge ding in the bad to your fico score, also if you have had one of these cards for a long, long time they are considered a big part of your credit history, thus if you cancel, down the road it may hurt you if you try to get a loan. Only saying this part if say you have had your commenity card for 15 years & that is your oldest piece of credit history. Don’t want anyone to bite your nose off to spite your face. I have been burned 3 x since I do carry a couple of store cards from Commenity, I am going to keep a very close eye & go into my accts every couple days & pay the balance off on the store cards within a matter of days just to keep my perks. It sure was aggravating & a big surprise to be hit with that finance charge twice. I have to keep my eye out for the pirates lol
Thank you @tamrick and @lizzie818 for warning us about changes with our HSN credit cards issued by Comenity Capital bank! I read the “important changes to my account” on my HSN credit card statement. I never thought it would mean new interest charges if I continued to pay only my statement balance every month. You have saved a lot of community members $$!
Dittos the thanks to the members who made us aware. Since I purchase so many items on flex, I had NO IDEA that purchase made AFTER I received my statement but BEFORE the statement was DUE, would ecru interest. I assumed that those would be on my next statement. No wonder my calculations were Off. Way off. I purchased many gifts, which I ended up returning UNUSED and UNOPENED, hit with SHIPPING charges coming/going and then interest on flex pays which made the cost even higher and a LOSING even more money.
I guess I’m done with the HSN card. I probably with the gifts/return shipping/original shipping and interest, I’ve been hit with a couple hundred bucks for items not even opened or used and returned in perfect condition. I’m DONE with this card. I had a discussion with Commenity last week. Unsatisfactory. Very unsatisfactory.
There is no upside to having this card. Not worth it.
You’re welcome, Tam, and thank you for bringing up a very important point.
