Are we paying too much for Joy’s products?
Since she is worth 50 million dollars I think I just answered my own question. Perhaps if I saw her movie I’d have more respect but seriously? when she is worth so much money why does she charge so much for her products? I suppose that could be said for any big business.
Dear Joy, bring your products production home. I promise you, "Made in the USA" is worth buying at slightly higher price. Be BOLD and make that all important statement soon. Thank you.
So sorry to say, "I AM NOT A FAN OF HER PRODUCTS!" Purchased the GreenPans that aired w/Chef Todd English in 2007. Bought the pans (the entire set)….junk! I took such good care of them properly and they marked….and the food gets stuck. Had to spend MORE MONEY and purchase another brand. Much happier and MORE QUALITY MADE….AND VERY PLEASED. Also purchased her fragrances for room forget the name of them….never worked….never smelt like she went on-and-on-and-on for hours non-stop and for days. We all have our opinion. Just to say, "DO NOT CARE FOR HER PRODUCTS….I FEEL SHE IS A HECK OF A SALESWOMAN WHO IS LYING TO ALL….VERY CHEAP MERCHANDISE….PRICEY….ALL THIS FOR "NOTHING". I haven’t purchase one thing since 2007 or 2008. I don’t trust her when she is up there selling the line of "BULL-BUTTER." A matter-of-fact….I won’t watch her when she is on "selling."
Anyone bashng Joy take into account:
Factories that make the products?
Cost of raw materials?
Salaries of factory workers and other staff from all over the world?
Airplanes that fly materials to make products from all over the world?
I think the OP is well initentioned.
If you look at the reviews on most of her merchandise, QUALITY is non existant while sheer quantity is likely the goal.
I do love my beauty cases, steamer, and hangers. I’m in the minority that loves the pillows and the forever fragrant (in the orange blossom scent at least). But I’ve bought that stuff on sale and feel as though I paid a fair price.
I did buy an AirFlo— at the outlet for $10. More than worth it, and there’s even dirt and dust in my filter. It’s great in my bathroom.
Some things I’ve bought are absolutely laughable. And I notice that every year something comes back as a TS, it seems lighter, cheaper, and flimsier.
I’d pay more for better quality, and I don’t think I’m in the minority on that.
Greed is a the MORE you! Have. The more you want
Of course people are paying too much money for her products, but it seems as though they don’t care about the quality. For example, she sold over 200,000 of the mop, which I’m sure that many will break or be returned. The mop set cost about $40.00. For the floor to be cleaned 2 buckets are necessary. If someone uses the water, then mops, and wrings it out into the same water, they are essentially using dirty water the second time around. I prefer to use the electric scrubber floor cleaners, and the water is not recycled. Hence, only clean water is used on the floor. I recently was looking for one of those laundry mesh bags that are used for delicates, and got 2 for $1.00. Joy sold those bags for $4.95, plus shipping(?) I think. Anyway, more power to her for being able to captivate the public with her borrowed ideas and cheap junk.
God bless Ms. Joy. But she will never see any of my money. If other inventors could talk non-stop for hours and hours, they would be rich to. I have never bought any of her products, know a few people who did and they were not please with the poor quality of her handbags, hand vac, etc. As for as the movie, no thanks. As for me buying anything, not going to happen. Ms. Joy does excellent business without my money, and will continue to do so.
I love Joy’s products. I do agree you can basically find others out there of the same quality. I find her expensive that is why I only buy her items as TSV, on clearance or as daily specials. HSN can be expensive just as other vendors, but if you wait and watch for deals, they have some of the best prices on sales and clearance items I have seen around.
YES, way too much!!
Yes. Hopefully people will soon Wake Up.
Considering her stuff is junk, yes.
I think her products are very good. However, I no longer buy them due to the accelerating costs – my choice. I bought her hangers when she was at QVC years ago – bought them several times. Her Miracle Mop and Hangers are excellent but you now can find them just as good and much less $$.
The price is always plainly shown . Our decision to buy or not is ours .
How rich the person selling does not decide the price. As for made in America, I wish more things were made in America but that train has left the station.
BTW … I did not go to the movie . I may see it later but it is not planned. On the Dec 25th , we went to see Star Wars . We plan on seeing Star Wars again soon .
I do think Joy is a hard working, intelligent , talented person . As a woman, I admire her . I actually think she would be a fun person to be with . She does not come off as stuffy or condescending (two attributes that I dislike) .
JMO…. I think successul women in business are often put down by women as much (or even more) than by men.
JOY COULD HAVE HER PRODUCTS MADE IN THE GOOD OLE USA……..Ronnie
I didn’t say anything about boycotting her products. I just think she could lower the cost of products bcos she makes an incredible amount of money. And if you average out the good and bad of her products i’m sure it comes out to be just average. $50 mill for average wow.
and why would she try to spend more time improving her products when she makes a lot of money as is.
