Anyone else thinking of leaving HSN due to misrepresentation of items?
I’ve been shopping with HSN for quite some time now and have spent a lot of money with them. For a long time I rarely had to send anything back, but lately, I have been very disappointed with many purchases and have to return them. I’m losing money left and right on return shipping too. As an example: Joy Mangano’s’ recent pillow special. I ordered 2 sets and had to return them. They were nothing at all like the presentation said and they are getting lots of really bad reviews. I’m begining to think that the good reveiws they are getting are not real. They were terrible, the worst ever pillows. Another recent purchase that had to go back and is also getting a lot of bad reviews was an HP Windows 10 lap top that was not what it was claimed to be. I also ordered the Fix It Stick for computers and it wouldn’t load. Guess I was lucky it didn’t because many people are complaining about their computers being damaged by it. There’s been a lot of over the top hype lately with the presenters, so Buyer Beware when shopping with HSN. They need to change or I’m gone. Will go back to shopping locally and save my money.
I think that they DO post negative reviews, at least My negative reviews were posted. I’ve only made three negative ones – but they are posted. I think all of them get posted. … I also believe that some 5-star reviews are recruited, Bought and Paid for by some vendors.
Concerning Joy’s pillows, yes many people disliked it but I Love it. I was very skepital when I purchased it, but I am very glad I did.
This Online Shopping is tricky suff. I try o make sure about my purchases, because I do not want to get ino the Return Game. – Be very careful about buying computers from networks. Channel shopping is good for somethings, but not for all things.
yes one more thing they actually pay people to come on here and smooth things over so beware.
yes i do think your right.read my conversation about HSN not posting negative reviews so you will never know the truth. They act like its the best thing they ever saw in there life for everything they sell.My husband said "they could sell you a pile of dog crap on a plate and you will think you are getting a great deal.’You can not trust there quality control anymore.10 yrs ago it was way better than now.Oh yeh they actually sent me a letter saying i was returning too much stuff and if it does not stop they will close my acct? how rude is that, they want me to get ripped off.
I am fairly new to HSN and find it hit or miss. I love Iman’s Rock the Runway City Glam wool coats (bought 4 colors) and often get compliments, along with her Timeless Chic Leading Lady Bag (bought 3 colors) and often get compliments, even from men! Some other stuff, like these t-shirts she had were below 1 star: so thin and blah. I bought some Diane Gilman stuff that just didn’t seem worth the money (like $50 for a glorified t-shirt). The Concierge Collection microfiber sheets were also below 1 star, but the Highgate Manor faux fur bedspread set is amazing and my family loves it. I have to say, though, that I have had no trouble with returning things. I usually am able to work it so that I return more than 1 item so the sting of the return postage isn’t so bad. I really like seeing clothes on models of different shapes and sizes, so that is what will keep me shopping at HSN. I wish all the stores had a video of someone wearing the garments they sell.
Where do you shop at
I wish I would have read this before I purchased anything from HSN. The item i purchased was junk and I retruned it and NEVER got a refund .. Buyer Beware!!!!
Nope..HSN is no different than any other company. They need sales to stay in business. As for quality all items at every store has gone south in recent years. The stores can only sell what they can get so the customer has to be wise and seek out quality for them self moreso now than the past.
As I posted below-
I love HSN Love jewelry that HSN sell (Heidi , Jay ) ..they are the best I’ve found, fabulous!
It is also true about fashion, some lines are absolutely the best around. Love Serena Williams, Guiliana, Nikki Poulos, Antthony and others
I also purchased some kitchen things-lots of Wolfgang Puck very satisfied with my purchases. Electric pressure cooker and fryer, pans and gadgets, even spices.
I love Korres it gets my beauty dollars (:
And there is Andrew Lessman, like or not like him , his products are top notch. His shows are awesome, even if you do not buy, watch and learn .
I cannot leave Joy Mangano out , I do not like everything she sells but in my house only huggable hangers are allowed, and I also like her readers and I like her joy comfort pillows.
I spend lots here! It is where I buy!
I use to purchase a lot from HSN. They had beautiful jewlery, clothes were horrible quality but electronics were very good. They always had flex pay so in a way more affordable than QVC. Products on QVC always seemed higher quality and more expensive. Then I discovered JTV and they had the same jewlery as HSN (remember this was years ago) but cost was less.I moved away from HSN but always looked at their electronics. After a while I very seldom watched it but I did notice that the Host and some of the presentors, yes, acted like they were movie stars and that always bothered me. When Michael Anthony first started he was humble now he is alway looking at the camera and I dont know just kinda like he is big stuff. For the most part they stopped explaining the items. I ordered the Wei East Hot2Cold and she never explained the product, but I had an idea as to what it was and took a chance. I just ordered the Cannon printer (small one) No they did not address the ink or the function of the printer, just look at the pretty pictures. Several years ago I purchased one EXACTLY like this cannon, it was made my Kodak, yes from HSN. Kodak went out of business. I had to go to the Cannon website to find out more about the printer and I was correct it is exactly like the old KODAK. Never once in the presentation did they say there is a special ink cartridge. I only know because I investigated. Will I be happy with this, yes, but no thanks to the presenters. The "great price" they quote is a little higher than in the stores but they are throwing in an extra box with the cartridge. I also placed an order for Rosetta Stone, price seemed right but then you dont get all the programs, only 1-3.. I immediately decided that this was not a good deal because if I want 4 & 5 it would be costly so I cancelled. But no it was not cancelled and it took me all night of waiting to finally be told that it was HSN fault and they would cover the return mailing. However I tried to get an answer here and no such luck. Had to call and wait …. There was so much drama and lack of professionalism that makes me wonder if I ever want to order from HSN again. I checked a confirmation email and discovered that another order was taken incorrectly fortunately since this was on back order I was able to cancel it. Hair color was written as light brown when I ordered dark brown. Seems they are getting very sloppy in their way to do business. Maybe they think customers should not be respected?
This is what I’ve noticed concerning the channels … Too Many Presenters/Hosts/Vendors/ Channel experts. – TOO Many.
I think the hosts should be responsible for Soley presenting and explaining more products. Perhaps then, they would have less time to gobble gobble talk tell lies.
I remember in the 90’s when the host presented most of the items. They sat down and showed hems, buttons, different sizes of garments, and they presented other type items with equal thoroughness. Now, a vendor, rep, celebrity, channel rep comes out for Every item. The hosts stand there and look ill at ease. Then, the hosts starts talking and very soon the host and presenter are talking over each other. They all are talking and telling lies … each trying to justify their keep. …. A MESS! A CIRCUS! (Adam,Tamara, Callie do Not talk over others).
At the end of the ‘presentation’ customers are Confused. The only thing the customer knows for sure is to Get It Home and Try It with the Option to Return it. But, after they Get it Home and then Return its … Here comes The Letter. :womanwink:
Me too. I am sick of hearing that the host actually USES the item. They couldn’t possibly use all the items they sell and they couldn’t ALL be the very best. Do they think we are all stupid? And quality control seems to be missing lately. I have returned so many items that it is getting silly. Tell us if the fabric is paper thin, then if we want it we will order it, don’t "over sell" it. I know their jobs depend upon how much they sell, but for goodness sake READ the item REVIEWS. I will always look at those now because no one else is reading them apparently.
Well, if the host is going to buy one…I better get one, also!
I hate this ploy.
If I do not receive the rebate, I may no longer shop here also. I feel cheated.
I don’t shop with HSN anymore. Have bought a few things here and there. So far, the best jewelry I have is from QVC. I bought it about 10 years ago and it is still great. If you shop around online you really can find better deals than HSN. The only time that you do get some good deals on HSN is if you are a crafter. Too many TV personalities selling junky products. I bought 3 celebrity cook items that were r eally terrible. One was so bad they took it down because it was terrible and got bad reviews.
In my experience, as much junk and bad quality as you can find on HSN, the value is still incomparable to other places – in some things. Most jewelry is simply amazing. You cannot find anything like this in a store. Much of the clothes are quite excellent values too, and very much on trend, as well as professionally fitting. I just came back from London, and my Nikki Poulos dress (the big red butterfly) got me compliments everywhere, and an Antthony dress looked very much in style.
In jewelry and clothes, HSN can hardly be beat. I think some of you may remember the values from back in the day when you could get gold and stones for seriously small amounts of monet, but that time is simply gone. Relative to what’s out there, HSN is solid, for the most part.
Now – electronics, sorry HSN – people just don’t buy them here, just don’t. I did not do comparisons evrey time, but the times I did do it, HSN sells older, worse versions of everything, not counting occasional Beats and gaming systems. Those are sold at the same price you can find them anywhere else though, so what’s the point. Besides, Beats are horribly overpriced to start with,
