Any New Year’s Resolutions out there still going strong?
Just curious how long most resolutions last.
Well wishes to all HSN customers @ staff! :smileyhappy:
Mine is also more of a health have to than a resolution too. I’m walking every day doing a little more each week than the last. I’m still doing it, some weeks it’s only a few feet more but it’s still more. When I get discouraged I look back and remember that I was told I’d never walk again, after a year in a wheel chair I’m walking and I’m going to keep walking!
It really wasn’t a "New Year’s Resolution" but a physical necessity. I had to undergo drastic surgery and a month long hospital stay (last year, Dec 2014) and 3 months of a ‘home health nurse’. I’ve been petite all my life. However, the ability to maintain a healthy weight has been a continuous challenge. I lose weight too fast. Since the surgery, I have no appetite at all…none. I eat because I have to. The list of foods I may eat are severely limited. I cannot metabolize foods that have any sort of preservative. The "upside" to this, is that a friend that stayed with me for 3 weeks lost 14 lbs! Now, I have folks asking me for advice on losing weight the healthy way…by eating the right foods (and exercise).
The thing I did for myself was make a hard and fast decision to "just stick with it"…no matter how I may "feel"…or whether I like it or not. Our "feelings" often change like the wind, yet, I’ll "just stick with it". Yet, there’s that thought in the back of my mind "what if it happens again?". I was told should the same medical condition reoccur, I wouldn’t survive it. Many times, I have ‘friends’ say "Oh, just this once eat something else!" Not a chance! IF they really understood the seriousness of such a situation, I doubt they’d take such a huge risk with their own lives. To any of you that did make "New Year’s Resolution’s" and it may not be going the way you’d hoped…start again and "just stick with it". YOU CAN DO IT!:heart::heart:
I’m still working on my resolution from last year.:smileyhappy:
I’m still dieting and exercising in hopes of dropping a size. I purchased a small exercise bike and inspite arthritis in my back and knees, I’m sticking with it. The older I get, the more important it is to "keep moving." I want to wear out, not rust out from lack of exercise.
Sunday, February 7-2016– Yep… my Diet & Exercise Resolutions are still going strong… lost 1-1/2 lbs. so far. Along with using my Glider-machine every day, I got a new Exercise machine to help me do Sit-ups. I LOVE IT! I’M ON IT! I’M DOIN’ IT!!! *lol*

I try to make them every year and well never make it very long. No willpower! :smileyhappy:
No I never really make any…
Hate setting myself up for disappointment.
