Another Annoying Return Situation

I just bought a pair of boots before they sold out then went and read the reviews and everyone complained of no return label and that they had to pay $27 to ship them back (lots of sizing complaints) so i cancelled my order. In the past I always got an easy return and they should always have that.

I returned 2 pairs of shoes with no label & it cost $14 & change per shoe. So over $28 to return. Not buying shoes from them anymore or much else because you never know what will or will not have a return label.

I have noticed a lack of return labels. My cynical self says it’s to discourage returns. (Do you really want to take the time to print a label to return it? Why not just keep it?)

There is something called shipstation.com where you can print prepaid labels. You may need a PayPal account. That’s how I make payment. Maybe there are other ways.

You can print prepaid labels at usps.com, but the only options there are priority. Shipstation has others besides priority (first class, parcel ground, etc.).

I am frustrated with the “You Return It” items since I haven’t seen a way to determine which items will fall into this category. I’ve had two items that needed to be returned this way and am not happy with the shipping costs. It appears that clothes will have the prepaid label but other items may not. It definitely will affect any future purchase.

Most recently I received a return shipping label with items. Hope for that to continue.

Creating a shipping label should be a must with all purchases. I am not sure if the item return should be our responsiblity though. With postage going up this will be a on-line challenge. Maybe it will turn back into more stores staying open..

I have a question which will seem snarky but it is not meant that way.

What is wrong with just grabbing a sheet of paper and writing the shipping address on it and then taping it to the box? The whole process takes 2 minutes and is simple. I’ve done it for years. Every major carrier will accept it. Cheap and easy. And if you return a lot then make one and copy it a few times to have for the next time.

I’m old and from the era where everyone didn’t do everything for you. The practice needs to be restored.

I have gone first to my orders, then locate the order I want to return. It should say on the side boxes, RETURN and I click on that. It should go down and give you the option to print out a label, then use that to return. I wish they would just include it with the order like in the past, though.( My printer is old and not that good!) I hope this may help someone who is trying to find the label.

I use the USPS prepaid boxes. I return many items in one box, so the cost is small compared to using the HSN labels.

I find the item in my order status. Click on “Return Options”.. then under the right hand column “I would like to return this on my own” click on “Print Label”. Then I Click on “Print Return Form”. I then click on “Print Return Label”.

I fill out the return form & attach it to the item(s). I tape up the USPS box with the items & return forms inside. I affix the printed return label & my personal address label to the outside of the box. Bring the completed box to my local Post Office. I pay the flat rate and they give you a receipt, that includes a tracking #.
