AL Vitamins and heat
Well it’s 88 degrees here in Michigan and headed higher. Just received my order of Omega3 and Vitamin D3 – it was HOT to the touch. I called the number on the bottle and was told that the gel caps would be fine. I asked about the integrity of the vitamins, whether they would withstand high heat, because I think these must have been in the sun on the delivery truck. I was told they would be fine. But I am just not sure about that.
What do you think? What has been your experience? I am just wondering whether they are OK now but whether the heat will shorten the time they are viable.
My ChocoNouvo arrived via UPS and I immediately opened it.
They packed it with cool gels packets inside which were hot to the touch and the little packets of chocolate were as well!
So their summer packaging did not work. Andrew there is a chocolate truffle company that does ship in summer and theirs arrives either hard as a rock or okay so you might check with them on how they do it.
HSN was great about offering a refund or reship which I declined…but I will reorder when it is cool weather…thanks HSN!
Interesting as I had the same experience on Friday with my Turmeric! It was 99 degrees in TN and my expensive pure Turmeric was stuck in my mailbox. I couldn’t figure out wjy these didn’t come UPS! Come on HSN.
We pay a lot for these supplements and of course they’re going to be affected by the extreme heat. Ugh……mine were hot to the touch also, btw. Okay, I just opened a capsule and it was fine. But, it’s still not okay and I’m glad I bought a small bottle. I bet AL wouldn’t like HIS vitamins handled this way.
IT HAD TURNED TO A VERY DARK ORANGE COLOR.
The D3 should be fine.
Do you know what rancid oil tastes like? If so open a cap and have a lick.
I REALLY DONT KNOW. I HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE WITH COQ-10 TWICE – THEY TURNED ORANGY & IT WASNT EVEN AS HOT AS NOW. I ALSO CALLED AL & WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. I GUESS THEY WORKED. BUT HOW DOES ONE REALLY KNOW – UNLESS YOU GET VIOLENTLY SICK OR SOMETHING. I SUGGEST RETURNING THEM AS DEFECTIVE & REORDERING. BUT CALL CUST SVC FIRST TO MAKE SURE YOU WONT BE CHARGED A RETURN SHIPPING CHARGE. (I PERSONALLY CANT SEE HOW THEY WOULDN’T BE AFFECTED.) (MINE HAD PASSED THE 30 RETURN POLICY PERIOD, SO I USED THEM UP.)
