Too many Glitches, What’s up HSN?
I originaly posted this on the 52 Club thread but thought to express my feelings so all can agree or not.
HSN? WHAT GIVES?
It has been over a year now when you launched this "NEW" website. There were problems which we all knew was going to happen. You stated that the IT dept guys were working diligently on the site to fix these. Well, after a year are they still working on this or did they put it on the back burner and said the hell with it.
I have been on numerous (I’m sure all here has too) websites and have never, repeat never, have had so many problems as I do with yours.
Page mis-directs to places you would never go to, pages scrolling on their own at anytime they choose, causing one to lose place on doing their business. Slow games, games not appearing, posting difficulties, etc etc etc.
Could be you have too many tracking capablilities attached to this site. Wel over 100 including whether a person is logged into or not, facebook, twitter, pinterest to name a few. Ths social tracking IS your problem. Could be too you have too much going on on each page, is it neccessary to have a shop now link everywhere?
I know your favorite remedy (lol) is to clear the cookies and cache. That’s a good one to put the issue to rest until they find no cure and the same problems. This is not a cure to the problems that your website has.
I can see where a person may have an older computer, but most here have newer up-to-date computers whom I’m sure have bought from you. I know todays computers and they can handle every imaginable website out there but this one. You sell computers, are you selling computers that can’t handle your own site?

Now I suspect HSN will come on here and say something like "We’re sorry that you are having problems with our site, if you can visit the contact area, lol. Yea right, send an email that will never be replied to, never be acknowledged and further more, no resolve to any of these issues. No Thank you HSN, you read it here and you do not need to know over and over again what browser I am using, what version or any other computer info that you ask for for no apparent use by the IT dept.
I can’t see why a person has to adjust his/her computer just to visit your site. Thousands of people here with the same problem, hmmm. Just might not be the customers computer afterall.

Over a year ago, when the Switch over was made to this website … I said then That I Like the Former website Look better. Certainly this is a very sophisticated, multi-functional Website with various operations …. Still, the fomer Website was Better. Much Better. – Or should I say … The former Webmaster.
Eventually, HSN will have to decide if the arcade is Worth it. Will HSN be a carnival site or a Shopping channel site.
Just a note about using Chrome. That is the only way you can pay your bill online. I was using Bing at one time, and had problems getting to the pay online page. I called and the customer service person said you can only pay your bill using Chrome. I don’t know if this has changed, as this was a couple years ago, and when something works, I try not to change it.
I’m also getting dizzy, since my screen keeps jumping around. Too early to start the day dizzy.
mrbucket, Thanks for writing what all of us are thinking. You are very smart and we admire and thank you so much. I have a specific issue which I know you will be able to diagnose. Somehow, on my Arcade page, the size of the font has changed and the total # of tickets appears on the line and you can’t really tell how many tickets you have. I have looked at it with "inspect element", but can’t seem to do anything about the font size. Do you have any thoughts???
I noticed today that HSN has started a thread on all the new enhancements being made to the site.
Are they serious? Making more enhancements when they can’t fix the enhancements they made before. Is this a sign of more problems to come? Is the new thread an attempt to smooth over their website problems and issues?
So they introduce a new game and call it Happy New Year Mahjonng, come on. This game has been in the Arkadium inventory for years and HSN brings it in as a new game with a Happy New Year added to it. A new game for HSN but hardly worth a mention since Mahjonng has been part of the arcade for years now.
Instead of making some enhancements that more than likely will have faults, how about fixing the old ones first.
I too have been having these issues particular the pages jumping and being redirected to strange places. This has occurred on numerous occasions when I was attempting to check out and I do not complete the purchase because I do not know if someone has access to my account via spyware etc. Makes me nervous since all of the issues of sites being hacked and I purchased from these companies. Thanks for posting now I know I am not loosing it:}.
We can’t fix the problems but we can design a new, unnecessary page for vitamins?
Well, it has been a week and no reply from HSN. Typical of the emails that you send to them, no response.
Problems persist still, with even more problems.

I should have known better, HSN only likes emails, threads that say how wonderful HSN is and all the things they do for us and to SHARE our thoughts on social media networks so all the world can see.
Like I would ever do that.
I would have responded here sooner but the page was flipping all over the place. My post was lost three times to the shopping page. Games are running slow and I keep getting chrome not responding on my HSN device. Also games available are not consistent depending on what device you are using. As fbn135 posted my patience is also running thin and I’ve only been here a short time. One last thing. Why do I have to log in every time I come here? My wife has been a customer since 1992 and spent thousands of dollars over the years. It makes you feel like your customer loyalty means nothing and they’re doing you a favor letting you in here. If it wasn’t for the good people responding to me and educating me along the way I probably would have been long gone. Please pardon the poor grammar and punctuation as my spell checker is long gone to bed. No young buck here.
I totally agree with Mr B & Cindy. I was a missile guidance tech in the AF from many years so for me computers are a piece of cake. The major problems with your web site are on your end, not your customers computers. I would hope that your IT department is working 24/7 to get your site up to the standards of the real world. It is rapidly becoming a big joke to knowledgeable people.
I am a big fan of HSN and your arcade, but my patience is starting to run pretty thin.

Mr B, with all your computer expertise…I know that you have tried everything at you end…and as I have a tech expert in my home, he’s has tried as well.
A lot of times, I am simply told that Chrome cannot connect to HSN…I change browsers, go to Firefox and everything runs so slowly on there..yes, all cleaned and updated.
IE is horrible…don’t make me talk about it. lol
I get a lot of OOPS! SOMETHING WENT WRONG, But please continue shopping at HSN! Well, I wasn’t shopping to start with, I was finishing a game and trying to collect my tickets.lol
The forums…can’t post a picture with out going into edit…have to post one word, then go back in to post a picture. Get a LOT of POST FLOODING DETECTED…attempting to post the same content with 3600 seconds. EVEN when I haven’t been on the forum for HOURS!
Or the picture feature won’t open at all, UNLESS I am in the EDIT MODE.
SHOPPING? Who’s been in my shopping bag? I didn’t want a new TV or piece of exercise equipment! And I don’t wear a size small in clothing. LOL
I would just like the pages to stay still!!!! The constant scrolling make people sea sick!
Most of these things I have addressed with HSN, the Arcade Team or the Mods…and so have so many other people. What bothers me about it all is that so many others don’t bother to say anything at all and just except it as the way things are…
Maybe HSN is going to do another change? Like last year?
I don’t deny that you have had issues, but I have not had any issues at all so wonder how much wide spread the problem is (you mentioned thousands??). With my old computer, I did have problems, not on this site, but on some others and it WAS due to the browser not being able to be updated due to the age of the computer. I switched to google chrome on the old one (from explorer) and that DID help take care of some of the problems that I had. Then my old computer died completely so I got the new one and have had no problems. You may think that the browser version does have an impact, but it does, especially since Microsoft no longer supports certain versions.
I agree with Mr. B. I have been sent to places I would not ordinarily go. The pages rolling up and down would be funny if it were not so pathetic.
Cookies and cashe are pat answers to whatever problem we have been having. Time to get a little honest about fixing some of these problems.
