Merry Happy Everything?
HSN what gives? Can you not say Merry Christmas? The real reason behind the whole extra shopping this time of year.
Must be against HSN policy not to say anything that relates to religion but they sure want to benefit from it.
Or they may be trying to capitalize on anyone and any religion even though they do not apply to the Christmas part of the season.
MERRY HAPPY NUAGHTY LIST!
I feel sad when they take down Christmas decorations from schools and the Court House. I dont get offended when I see Happy Hanukkah and Jewish symbols. I dont care if they put their symbols right next to the Christmas ones. This tradision has gone on for hundreds of years and no one cried this stuff offends me. Why does it offend them? If they dont believe in Jesus or God thats their right but why should we give in to what they want? Why all of a sudden this mindset that we might offend someone with our beliefs? dont we have feelings too? Jewish people never cared what Christians celebrated as they bought Christmas trees and had their traditions, everyone was happy and cheerful. Then our country got this mindset to do away with the reason we celebrated and made it into this buy buy buy mindset. Who has taken over our feelings and joys and gave in return hoplessness and insecurity. You better fight for your right to openly show your religion or it will very soon be taken away from you.
I think "Merry Happy Everything" is THE BEST holiday greeting ever. Now watch me get chewed out for saying "best holiday greeting ever. Those of you who are offended, need to get your priorities in order. Just my humble opinion. 🙂
Hi everyone! We say “Merry Happy Everything” as a way to wish happy holidays to anyone and everyone celebrating at this time of year… and because we think it adds to the fun here! 🙂 We do also wish everyone who celebrates Christmas a very Merry Christmas!
I thoroughly agree with all of you! Society has gone crazy. Example: Remember how we use to gather for Thanksgiving all day event. Socialize, eat, drink (that’s if you drink), watch tv, then rest, and still go back for more and snack. Not now days! Society has gotten so materialistic, excessively concerned with merchandise. Now for Thanksgiving instead of enjoying a day of festivities no……hurry with the gathering then haul it in the evening run to the store and stock up. Guess with Black Friday wasn’t good enough, let’s just add a evening…..which will lead to the early hours of Black Friday which is a mad house. There is just no meaning to Thanksgiving and Christmas anymore. We have lost our way. There is "NOTHING WRONG WITH SAYING, MERRY CHRISTMAS." And dynac is very correct….quote: "people are afraid to smile and say hello." I changed policies as far as Christmas in my house. Told my family in 2008 that at Thanksgiving we gather, eat, socialize, watch t.v. all the festivities. When Christmas comes we will not be giving each other a present (again: material items) we will gather, socialize, eat, laugh, watch tv, love, appreciate each other….no boxes with bows. This day the attention will be on the children. We are gonna go back "OLD SCHOOL WAYS." Well, Christmas of 2008 came and it was a very successful and happy event. This brought the family closer and was able to understand, slow down, and appreciate Christmas much better. Also, we all saved a lot of money. Still stick to the new way as of 2015………
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE OF MY HSN/ARCADE FRIEND….YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! :womanwink:
I am completely in favor of saying "Merry Christmas." When I taught music (28 years) in public schools, I included many sacred songs in our programs.
However, I think "Merry Happy Everything" is CLEVER. It has a kick.
I agree mrbucket!! Christmas, over the years, has become very secular, and there’s no "religious" meaning to it at all anymore. Let me go out on a limb and say this: "If" it was somehow proved there was no God, well guess what, this country would STILL celebrate Christmas every year!! Let me tell you why: Christmas is FUN, it’s great for kids, Santa in the morning, toys!! Great for adults, we love our Christmas parties, egg nog, cookies, even fruitcake, LOL!!
Christmas is the MOST fun time of the year, where we wish each other peace and goodwill, where we set aside our differences and give each other hugs and gifts. It’s a time where we look back on the year, and count our blessings. It’s a time where we celebrate LIFE, and friendships, and love for one another. This is the history of Christmas, a time of year we all enjoy! It really makes no difference what people call it, but the fact remians, IT IS CHRISTMAS. Why can’t we all embrace it and love it and enjoy it? Look at it like this: Without the history of Christmas, there would be no such thing as "Happy Holidays". If it weren’t for Christmas, Dec. would just be another month, with NO celebrations, no parties, no gift giving, just nothing.
Here we go again with yet another thread on the wording of a sales pitch. They had Happy Hanukkah on the main page yesterday.I sure that offended somebody. Most likely they will post Merry Christmas once it GETS HERE.I don’t want to see and hear Merry Christmas for days with ever purchase.Happy Holidays covers it all.I like Merry Christmas during the last part of Christmas week and then I like to hear Happy New Year.Until then it is just Happy Holidays and to me that includes them all.
Most people have finally figured out if you are on sites buying everything in sight for Christmas presents it has nothing at all to do with the religious aspect of the holiday. If someone is celebrating Christmas for religious purposes only then there is very little need to be shopping especially for electronics and other expensive gifts.
Well, as was previously discussed … I Like it a Lot. It is very creative and it speaks to everyone. We are all customers and we all have different traditions and beliefs. This way, we can add our own traditons to it. – Ingenious!
Mr. Bucket, not so sure that possibly this is a "sales gimmick" rather than a statement about religion. Hsn is noted for their "catch phrases" for sales and this just might be just another promotional phrase. As much as I dislike the "political correctness" of this world, I hope this wording isnt part of that correctness. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS A AVOIDANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY, in my opinion.
