is hsn loosing money?
Thant’s the only reason I can think of for you to put all those annoying ads on the arcade. it slows up my computer, and if I have to buy a new one it will be from Qvc
I removed my ad blocker last week and just put my cardboard back up so that HSN still gets the revenue. The moving ads are too distracting while I’m trying to play.
I would hate to see HSN and QVC merge into one network and lose some of the hosts. Some prominent vendors I wouldn’t miss though. One sells ill fitting clothes and the other sells miscellaneous “stuff” she invents that never works when you get it home. :p
I like this arcade because it also has the community. There are other arcades that have the same games for free, but I haven’t checked to see if they have forums.
The thing for me is that the Arcade is how I watch HSN, my cable company doesn’t carry HSN. Playing the games gives me an excuse to watch HSN and shop, I would not sit and just watch HSN alone on the computer.
Come on everyone, it’s Thanksgiving Week, are we not grateful for the arcade? What other shopping channels provide such a area for us to come and play? Greet each other and just have some fun. The ads are not that bad, and they only take a moment. With the possibility of someone not having a job due to all the coming changes, we should not complain.
Just one guy’s opinion, but complaining about something we get for basically for free
doesn’t make any sense to me anyway. In all the time that I have been playing the games
and hanging around here, HSN has never gone back once they changed something.
Once it’s changed, it stays that way.
But again, it’s basically free for us to use, adjust and move on.
I think this is only the beginning.
There is an interesting article in MarketWatch under the title “:QVC announces plans for new leadership team and structure to drive Global growth for the next generation of shopping.” It is in the form of a Press Release issued on Oct. 12, 2017. It’s a rather lengthy article which explains the changes in store for QVC and HSN and others. There will be a lot of changes in upper management for HSN, people will step down and be replaced. It also says that the Companies will remain separate entities until the acquisition is final. Maybe we should all let up with the complaints about the games, let these people do their jobs and hope that we still have an Arcade next year. Just my opinion and my take on the article.
If you want to buy from QVC, better do it fast. As others pointed out, QVC exercised stock options and acquired HSN. The acquisition is taking place this quarter.
HSN has been losing money for a couple years with marginal growth. The official acquisition should be completed by January 1st. QVC executive board stated there will be consolidations and job losses for some departments, it might have been a question of eliminating arcade or keep the arcade with ads to bring in revenue. With ads the arcade can pay for itself. Another option is for arcade players to bump up their spending. It’s a free arcade yet it requires manpower and resources to keep it in operation. Maybe spending by arcade players isn’t what HSN needs to justify ad free arcade?
You would think that these ”brainiacs’ would get the message and return the site to where it was. They’re raising prices like crazy and still going down the tubes because of what they’ve done. Mindy Grossman you were one very smart lady to leave when you did.
HSN shares have decreased 29% since the beginning of the year, and 35% in the last 12 months.
I am so sick of seeing the Wallenda gal.I am always afraid she will fall every time I watch.I played on my tablet and now I can’t Very frustrating.I hate change anyway.but I am old and feel like it always happens nowadays.
QVC bought HSN quiet sometime ago. The also bought Zulily and you can now use the QVC credit card to shop that site too. QVC owns a number of other subsidiaries.
