HSN? Why? Your Price on BOSE Solo 15 II, is $50 MORE than Anyone Else?
I was dying to order the BOSE Solo 15 II TV Sound System from HSN approx. a month ago. It was listed at 449.99… but when I went to place my order…it was sold out. I checked almost daily waiting to see if it came back in stock. Afraid that I’d not be able to get it for the Holiday…I began searching to purchase it elsewhere. What I found was to me…astonishing.
While HSN sells this unit for 449.99 with a 3yr repair plan for $59.95…
Here is what other large sellers are pricing the exact Bose Solo 15 II TV Sound System unit at:
BOSE – 399.99 (reg. 449.99) – Free SH – Universal remote and cables
Best Buy – 399.99 (reg.449.99) -Free SH – Universal remote and cables
Amazon – 399.00 (reg 449.00) – Free SH – Universal remote and cable –
Costco – 359.99 (reg.399.99) – Free SH – ‘simplified’ remote and cable
So it would seem, since BOSE itself sells this unit for 399.99, that BOSE was also extending a reduced price to their vendors on this unit.
Ok…so I came back once more and saw that HSN had the unit back in stock…HOWEVER… HSN is STILL selling the EXACT same Bose Solo 15 II TV Sound System, with Universal remote and cables for…449.99…$50 MORE than anyone else, with an optional protection plan for $59.95.
My Question: Why is HSN so much more for the same exact piece of equipment? $50.00 is a HUGE discrepancy in product up charges. As badly as I want this item…I just can not justify such a differential in charges for an exact item. I truly can’t understand why anyone else would either.
I also in no way am asking this in order to embarrass HSN. I really want this unit. I do love it here, and am not one to ever complain..as I so enjoy ordering things from you, but this particular price difference is troubling. Is your listed price just a mistake?
Any information you can tell me would be so appreciated. I would love to have this for the Holidays!!!
I understand what you’re saying, but in this case…ALL of the above retailers are selling the exact same bundle. I would hate to think that HSN felt that a $50 charge is plausible for the honor of using Flex Pay. For that amount of money, one is better off using their own credit card to pay for this merchandise. The interest on a credit card wouldn’t come close to $50 if one paid it off in the same 5 monthly payments as if it were Flex Pay.
I thought Flex Pay was a perk that was extended to HSN customers..not something built into the price of the product. How disappointing. I really wanted the Bose Solo 15 II.
HSN does often have prices higher than regularly priced retail at other stores. I have paid the extra cost at HSN for FlexPay, or to use my HSN card, or have the 30 day return.
So, HSN is not usually cheaper, it’s just a convenience thing. If you want cheaper, you can usually find brand name products cheaper elsewhere.
Hi ! We always try our hardest to have the best price possible, but understand that sometimes that doesn’t happen. We do offer extra benefits such as flexpay, and sometimes bundled goods as well that other retailers do not. I’m sorry I don’t have more info for you about this particular items price.
