Does anyone know how the crosswords puzzles are scored? Time to complete doesn’t seem to be a factor. Or is it?
You are correct. Time has nothing to do with it. It has to do with the number of white squares there are to fill in. The more white squares, the higher the score. Crazy, but true.
OK, but I always complete the entire puzzle so all the squares are filled in. My final score varies from 2496 to 2556 (which, I gather, is the highest attainable). Just curious. I’ve reasoned that perhaps each puzzle has a different high score. That is, some puzzles are not worth as many points upon completion. Just curious…inquiring minds want to know!
Thanks, I get it now! (Some puzzles have more white square and are thus worth more points.) :cathappy:
