Can anyone explain the strategy for Hunt
I am not the best gamer but not the worst either, but I just can’t figure out how to get higher scores at the Hunt game. What is the strategy? Do you concentrate on moves to get the 5 and 6 in a row? Do you always play just what wins any amount by making just direct moves – those moves that you don’t have to move a piece more than once? Do you blow up the rockets and stars right away or leave them? I have played a lot and the highest score I’ve gotten is 11,000. Please HELP fellow gamers :smileymad:
Just played Space Hunt and points did not double….scored 28,975. Still only got 40 points! What gives? :/
Well … I honestly thought this game would never let me beat Sean. But I got out my Tablet like someone suggested and my score immediatly started doubling. It took me some time but I have finally scored 41,125 and that is enough to beat our good buddy Sean! Right now it feels like a miracle. The tablet is definetly the secret. You can’t move fast enough on a computer. But like all games – it is the luck of the draw in most cases what the heavens will drop down on the board. It is a good day! And thank you to all that have responded to this post.
Nice tips, but still takes quite a great skill set. I am pretty good but for tonight, those who can ‘t score high…keep playing tonight while scores DOUBLE TIL MIDNIGHT!! For scores as low as. In the 16000’s you can score 80 pts (40 doubled pts ). And remember have fun!! So what!!! you don ‘t beat our boy Sean at EVERY game. Rack up the points while you can get double pts and find something nice to enter for in the Arcade store. And again, remember the fun of all those sounds exploding…yaay!
On Space Hunt, it’s most important to make matches quickly. If too much time passes between matches, as PsychoMom said, your multiplier will reset. However, don’t play so quickly that you try to make matches that won’t be there when the game catches up because your previous matches cause them to disappear. (Moving a planet without making a match will reset your multiplier to 1.) Someone wrote that they were able to switch back and forth from the left side to the right side of the board to keep playing quickly. Personally, I just wait for the dropping sound to stop before I make the next match.
I don’t generally worry a lot about how long the matches are, but I do try to make 4 and 5 strings if I can. (I don’t like 6 because it creates the UFO, which, as far as I can see, is basically worthless because using it ALWAYS resets your multiplier to 1. I also watch for unusual formations. For example there’s one that looks like a cross except the center planet is different. If you move the top of the cross down into that center spot, you’ll have a 5-planet match shaped like a T. Same thing if you have something that looks like the 2 sides of an L (2 planets each) without the corner. If there’s a matching planet you can move into that corner, that’s a 5-planet match.
I generally use the rockets during the game; but listen carefully because if they don’t cause a match someplace, you’ll need to make one before the multiplier resets. Unless I collect a lot of stars, I usually use them in the last 10-15 seconds of the game when my multiplier is highest. Listen to the sounds, though, because the same is true of the starts that is true of the rockets.
Just for perspective, my high score so far today is 67.225 and my low was below 25,000.
Thank you all for your help. My life seems to revolve around beating Sean 20 times every week. Therefore – you guessed it – I don’t have a life!!! I’m an HSN gamer. Well until Hunt – I hope you’re right and I figure out what I’m doing – or better yet – what I am suppose to be doing. Hope you all have a great week – and please – somebody out there beat the pants off Sean 20 times!!!! Nothing personal Sean – but we just love to beat you :smileyvery-happy:
Heck, if Sean can do it, we should have no problems at all. Right Sean??? :womanwink:
For the Alternate Entry go to the rewards store page three. There you will see the Game of the Week alternate entry…click on it and follow the instructions…..:manhappy: Have Fun !!!
What is an alternate entry????
Where can you buy them?
What is an “alternate entry”. As you can see….I’m very new at this.
Well, you’re better than me…I can’t score above the 5,000 range.
Hi Lemire — My strategy, and I’m not a world-class expert believe me, is to really strive for the longer matching rows of planets. That will make more powerful weapons appear — and yes, I click on the rockets, stars, etc, immediately to clear as much of the field as possible. This game is great for your adrenaline, and once you get in the go-go-go groove, your score will go up too.
Good Luck! And if ultimately Space Hunt isn’t your game, you can always do Alternate Entry!
Have a Super Weekend,
I wish someone would give us a clue. I am in the same boat.
