Your MiracleClean Questions Answered Here
MiracleClean is available on HSN.com and we are thrilled to have you check it out here!
We are happy to say that more than 150,000 MiracleClean sets were sold last month. Along with the already high demand for this item, there have been some questions from customers we want to address to help your experience with the product.
This has a strong smell, what is it? What you’re smelling is Thymol, the botanically derived active ingredient and a component of Thyme Oil which comes from the Thyme Plant. Thymol is found in products many of us use daily.
This cleaner smells powerful, is it toxic or harmful? Toxic?…Absolutely not. Harmful?… Only to dirt and germs. Yes, Miracle Clean is a powerful cleaner and disinfectant when used as directed, but the botanically-derived active ingredient means it’s not only strong, it’s also the smarter choice. MiracleClean is an EPA-registered disinfectant, with no skin warnings, no eye warnings, and no ventilation warnings, and it requires no rinse even from food contact surfaces. See the product page for details and read the bottle label for directions.
What else is in MiracleClean? MiracleClean is EPA-registered. We can assure you that there are no harmful or harsh ingredients. It’s botanically derived active ingredient—which you’ll find on the label—is Thymol, a component of the Thyme plant, and the main other ingredient is deionized water, to make sure that your product performs purely and perfectly with every spray. While the full formulation is patented and proprietary, we can confirm that MiracleClean contains NO heavy metals (such as copper sulfate), NO bleach, NO hydrogen peroxide, NO quaternary ammonium, NO glycolic acid, NO sodium hydroxide, NO lactic acid, NO alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride and NO phenylphenol.
We understand it is a new smell of clean and we do hope that you’ll give it a(nother try). We think you’ll love that MiracleClean disinfects and has unbelievable cleaning power right away, and that it is a smarter way to clean. Now’s your time to enjoy a powerful clean!
I believe a class-action lawsuit is in order here. I cannot believe how deceptive Mangano and HSN were in touting this product. I had used it as stated in my entire home and the smell still exists on items that stated it was safe to use.
The smell left behind just will not come out or dissipate and it causes discomfort no matter what I try to do to remedy.
Complete utter deception and I have alerted the proper authorities in two states.
That HSN will continue to support Mangano and her products is collusion to the nth degree.
I am replying to Sista. I don’t work for Joy Mangano. I am an OR nurse…have been for 47 years. And believe me, this stuff smells like a walk through a lavender field compared to what I’ve smelled in the OR!
I must be really dense. I bought and have used this product, and Yes, it has a strong odor…but it smells organic to me. It cleans really well…I used it on my screened in porch to remove mildew and mold and it worked beautifully. I also use it on kitchen counters after preparing meat or chicken. I feel confident that it’s killing whatever bacteria that might be lurking there. AND the odor dissipates rather quickly in my experience.
Really don’t know what the hub bub is all about.
All that said, I also didn’t mind the Perricone “fishy” smell either….and that product worked too.
Can you tell us why ingredients are not listed online OR on the bottle??? (per others who bought this )…I wouldnt buy because of that..Sorry but i believe no one when it comes to selling something so you saying its all non toxic means nothing to many of us…WE want to see whats in it……We need to demand ingredients listed on stuff and online!!..Its alarming just how toxic it all is.
I take no ones word i look up ingredients to read for myself if they are toxic or not.
I have never seen a cleaner that does not have whats in it listed fully and that right there tells me if there NOT listed to Beware that there is most likely harmful stuff in there.Come on Hsn and little miss prissy please tell us why you are hiding whats in this??
Also epa registered means nothing because they say many times something is not harmful when it is…..Roundup is for sale and the use of pesticides on food is allowed and considered safe!!Which millions of us know its NOT!!
I call BS. This is NOT the “new smell of clean”. It is the smell of instant migraine, instant asthma attack, instant stink to high heaven. It DOESN’T go away quickly either. I actually had three of my five cats smell it and run. One cat smelled it, hissed at me and then ran away.
This was one of the biggest lies HSN or any of the other shopping networks has ever told/sold. No spin is going to make it smell better.
I think the main two things that would make this better are
1) Full refunds without having to send this back – most of us threw it away anyway
2) a FULL APOLOGY from Joy for trying to pull this fast one on people who trusted her.
I agree that if we had been told the truth we probably would have picked one scent and tried the product to see if we could tolerate the smell. Instead we were told how great it smelled and that what was on hand was all that could be manufactured this year and that it was going to sell out any minute. I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I purchased all 4 scents where I could determine which one I would put on AutoShip (it would have been my first one ever). When I first sprayed it, I couldn’t get my breath. It scared the out of me. I contacted Customer Service by their blog and asked was it safe to use because it couldn’t possibly be the correct product-something had to have gone wrong. I was told it was safe. I STILL can’t believe Joy or HSN didn’t think the thyme oil smell was a big deal and I still wonder how they stood it in the studio that day. What would have been the harm if they had said it had a strong smell?, I still think they forgot the Forever Fragrant in the first shipments. This whole experience has made me mad and hurt my feelings. I spend most of my extra money on HSN. I thought they cared about their customers. Oh Well, live and learn.
I feel like a fool trusting HSN and the show host (who by the way said she had
asthma and the smell was wonderful. Well I do have asthma and I couldn’t
breathe after using this product. How low can we go just to sell a poduct on
TV. Sorry I’m done with HSN.
After reading many of the other negative reviews and after using this product for the first time I wrote a negative review. Today, I wrote another negative review, posted it and then read some of the positive reviews. People are stating that the scent is not that bad and after some time, the strong thymol scent dissipates and a clean smell is left behind as well as a very clean whatever they were cleaning.. So, I tried it again, gagging as I cleaned. My husband had to leave the room because the smell was so disgusting to him. I do admit, however, it does a good cleaning job, but no matter what, the smell DID NOT dissipate and morph into a nice, clean smell. As I said in my previous post, it works good on killing ants, but smells just as bad as insecticide but the foul smelling odor seems to last longer. Again, it does a very good cleaning job if you can get past the smell. I’ll just consider this as a lesson learned and will probably not buy any more products from Joy Mangano. This is not the first product I have purchased by her and have had disappointments in all except one.
I wanted to reply to your comment in regards to MC killing ants. I remembered your post from a day ago and decided to try it on my outside window sill this morning where a long weird looking bug was crawling. The poor bug died on contact! As soon as I sprayed the MC on it died instantly. I was really a bit shocked because the only thing to my knowledge that kills crawling bugs is an insecticide. I use essential oils a lot and certain one’s repel insects and keep them away but no essential oil I have in my home actually kills an insect on contact! MC does. WOW, so what can it be doing to our lungs if used the way the bottle and Joy said to use it. SMH.
I really tried several times…. but still I cannot tolerate the odor. Still gave me a headache. When my brother came to visit me and asked me why my apartment smelled like bug spray… that was it. I returned 3 orders, dumped 2, along with the 2 packs of the small sprays (6). I was so hopeful… I get that it is made from Thyme..but the smell is very potent…too potent for me. Joy, please find a way to reduce the strong scent… The product cleans like a charm… too bad I cannot use it..
I purchased Joy Mangano’s original Miracle Clean with Mighty Molecules many years ago and it was a great ODORLESS cleaner. It was sold premade in 16 oz spray bottles and in small bottles as a concentrate in which we added 2 oz to the bottle and filled the rest with water. I still have all the empty spray bottles because the pumps still work. So yes, I can understand the ORIGINAL Miracle Clean being EPA-Registered, but I have my doubts about this new one as the original did not have Thymol in it.
Why couldn’t Joy have just remade the original? And I mean the original, not the remake she brought to us about two years ago. That didn’t cut it.
WOW, what a way to add insult to injury.
If they would have said that in the presentation, I’m sure there would not have been hundreds of complaints! As many people have stated would actually ordered different scents, there wasn’t any difference in the scents…I ordered the orange blossom and cannot detect even a hint of orange. Everyone had an expectation, including myself, of receiving a pleasant scented cleaner based on the presentation. So although HSN is now stating that we are smelling thymol, they should have presented that way. I for one, would not have felt lied too.
I just read in this blog that the reason we cannot leave a review is because the formula has changed (it’s even under a different item number).
But I just received a response email from HSN stating that the formula has NOT changed and that I should be able to leave a review. So it sounds like we are getting different information.
If they changed the formula, or added (more) Forever Fragrance to it, shouldn’t we be sent the new formula or at least be informed that they improved the product and given the opportunity to exchange it??? I did not smell any Spring Meadow in my product, not even after the bad smell wore off.
I agree with hilton. I also ordered 2 scents- orange blossom & linen. Plus I got the purse sized ones. The presentations were raving about the nice scent. Now you’re telling us it has a strong smell? If you had told me it smelled like Listerine I probably still would have bought it but just one set. And I never would have bought the purse sized ones. I can’t even imagine spraying this in a public restaurant. Wasn’t it Joy that said she always sprayed the tables in a restaurant? Feel like I was lied to & tricked into purchasing this. Since this fiasco I have been hesitant to buy anything from HSN.
After reading the many (oh, so many) complaints about Miracle Clean here in the community over the past weeks, I was glad to see that HSN was finally addressing the issue with a statement. But this really seems like a slap in the face to all those people who did have actual physical reactions to the product. I think HSN’s continued silence on the matter would have actually been better than this. jmo
