HSN CARES ORNAMENTS 2015
I have been an HSN shopper since 1982. So, I’ve seen a lot of thing come and go in the alnost 34 years I’ve shopped with HSN. PLEASE…whomever reads this understand that I’m not complaining or being uncharitable with this post.
I’ve been checking frequently for the HSN cares ornaments for St. Judes Childrens Hospital. In fact We buy several every year to help support the cause.
When I saw the holiday gift icon up, I was excited and immediately went to see the ornaments. Then my excitement sank. Why, why, why, are the ornaments bears again??? I don’t have anything about bears, I love teddy bears. But it is frustrating to me as I feel it stunts the creativity for different ideas, decor, topics, etc.
I wonder does HSN send out blank bear molds and then the different vendors paint and decorate them. Up until two years ago, they were so stunning and you could see the creativity of these different vendors as related to their area of expertise or, with just something completely different that went back to their nationality, culture, anything that was special to them or for the children at St. Jude’s. The shapes were different from orbs, to onion shapes, crescent moons, and…some were clear with the secure inside. I’m sure there were others too.
Now, it’s IMHO they aren’t that special anymore. We will donate on our own to St. Judes as for my family it’s a very important place~the work they do is outstanding.
But, for the ornaments in 2015….we will pass.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or, remember how the ornaments used to be?
I do think the bears are adorable, but I also would like to see some different ornaments.
i have to admit I do like what Adrienne did with hers. WILD BEAR!1
I totally agree. I don’t mind bears either, but one year of them is enough. HSN hear us please!
I totally agree. It would be nice to have a bit of variety.
I absolutely agree about the bear designs. every year it was fun to see what the various vendors came up with. the old designs were conversation pieces and beautiful enough to keep up all year long. The bears…..not so much. 🙁 The past 2 years with only bear designs have been very disappointing. I do not care for them. This year the selection appears to be much more limited than in the past as well. HSN please consider going back to the old designs or at having more options than just the bears.
Hi..thank you for this spot on post regarding my disappointment as well. I buy every year at least six to ten for family gifts. Such a wonderful cause. This year they are theme based and all bears. Found two I like and will buy 3 but if next year they are bears I will make a donation and skip the ornaments. I am willing to pay a higher price for the unique designs of previous years.HSN….. it seems as if you are giving up on this wonderful tradition and that’s a shame.
I totally agree with you. I used to purchase several and was extremely disappointed with last year’s selection. Won’t be buying too many this year.
