How do you clean Joy's hangers?
I have 80 hangers from my old home and they smell from a relative that was a smoker. I hate to throw them away because I love them. Has anyone cleaned these hangers?
I use a lint roller on Joy’s hangers when they’re new. If there’s an odor problem, try a fabreze lint roller.
I would handwash them too, with a lovely smelling gentle detergent.
I decided to wash my hangers. I filled a bathtub with warm water, 1/2 cup of clorine free bleach and a p1/2 cup laundry detergent. I swished them around to move the detergent and make smal l suds. I let them sit for 15 minutes, rinsed them and patted them dry. I let them hang on the shower rod overnight. So far so good!
Hopefully Joy will produce a hanger cleaner 😀
@hate2write9 When my mother, who was a smoker, would leave at the end of a visit, she would spray my drapes and furniture, etc. with Lysol. It seemed to take care of the smell. You might try that on your hangers.
