Every time I hear one of the vendors talk about how aluminum pans have great heat retention it makes me lose faith in EVERYTHING else they say. Curtis Stone is an intelligent man…he KNOWS what he’s saying is not the truth.
Aluminum is NOT a metal that retains heat…it dissipates heat. That’s why they use aluminum pans for thawing frozen food. They are lying to us. Why must they blatantly lie to sell stuff? It makes no sense.
…but please…pick your favorite color, and buy them up.
I still love my stainless steel cookware myself. I did see some durastone pans in a store and they looked prety nice. But I just don’t know about the nonstick in general.
Btw Carlos, How are your Todd English pans holding up? And how do you like your mandoline? I really have a case of mandoline envy! I was sooo bummed when mine arrived broken. I am still waiting for the PL8 to come back in stock.
But by department store or online standards, the two frying pans have an amazing number of 5 star reviews… they’re 4.5 star with almost 900 reviews. That never happens anymore. I’d say for what these are, they’re a good purchase.
I almost bit, but I’ve decided to buy open stock when I can afford a new piece here and there of some italian cookware that I ran across. Best stuff I’ve ever used and it looks brand new after a year and is truly non stick. I originally bought a grill pan at HomeGoods on clearance and it’s been used and abused yet remains amazing. It’s thick and heavy in a good way. Wish I could recall the name… but of course it escapes me.
