AG cards TS
I like AG but was really hoping that after 4 years of her card kits as our 24 HR Craft Day Holiday TS, that we could have a TS from WRMK or MS. While AG is very talented, of course, her line has very little variety. If you don’t care for flowers, you really cant use a lot of her things. I know I am most likely in the minority, but just feel some other companies on HSN have a lot to offer and are left in the background. These card kits in my opinion are less craft and more assembly. Anna herself, has said you can lay them out on the table like dealing cards because all can be interchanged. She also tells us that she did all of the work for you. Where is the personal touch that my friends & family like to see from my crafts? Sure they are pretty, but Hallmark sells pretty cards too, and they do have affordable cards, even a dollar section. I don’t mean to offend anyone, I just hope that HSN will let another great company bring us our Holiday Craft TS in 2016. I feel that 5 years of these "kits" is enough!
Interesting take. I am only 1 year into AG cards and I must admit I am on the creative side and don’t necesiarlly use all her items the way they are presented. But her stuff is really nice to have in my arsenal. I do love her flowers. This was my first Christmas TS and liked the pop up card a lot on air. But after examining them closer and not being heavy into Santa’s, sleds etc the die cut Christmas set may be a better fit for me as it also includes some crosses. All are really nice and great value if it is a fit for you. I too do not want to offend but a few more Christian items in a Christmas assortment would be nice. There is something out there for everyone and every taste. I ordered the Cricut Explorer Air which will enable me to make my own pop-up cards using AG embellishments and specialty papers. Again she has something for everyone depending on where you are in your skills, time and how much you want to spend. Just saying………
I like AG’s products a lot (and own a lot). To me they’re much more versatile than people here seem to think. But I agree there should be more variety of products offered. There’s a huge variety online but it would be nice to see them demonstrated. AG’s been so popular, rescuing Cricut from freefal, but one company can’t keep the craft shows going forever. Marketing people don’t know if the market’s been saturated until people stop buying. But I hope AG continues with others. I’m afraid with all this exposure, in time her sales will tank to be replaced by another company that we’ll grow tired of. I wish we could just have a variety of companes, all doing well.
They keep having her on because thousands of people tune in to get the Christmas card kit every year. I believe she sold over ten thousand of them this year! I love Anna Griffin‘s card kits and would not be interested in the other brands. As someone else put, they look bland and underwhelming to me. I take Anna’s card kits and add other things and papercrafting techniques to them to make them more “crafty”. But the big selling point is that people who are not crafty and beginners can get these kits and people that are seasoned crafters can upgrade them and either one will come out with beautiful cards!
Hi i agree with you .I don’t care for AG either. We need more companies.I am a sizzix person.they told me from HSN one day that they will try to get sizzix.I wrote sizzix my self and they said they don’t sell machines on tv.Anna Griffin must have a contract for life. I hope to see other things also. karen from the state of Micigan
Though I still consider it crafty – you’re doing something with your hands, and it’s creative – even though Anna has made it so easy for anyone to throw these together it takes virtually no skill at all. But I see what you’re saying – I agree that they are less craft ad more asembly, but that’s kind of what I like. My job by day is a graphic designer, so while I like to do creative things, if I make too much work out of "layouts" it feels like I’m doing "work". With Anna’s kits, I can make beautiful cards without even thinking about it or trying. It’s just fun – and relaxing. I totally understand how some people might like more of a challenge. However – that’s not me!
Anna does have a signature style and it’s probably not for everyone, but I love it. It’d be nice if there were something with a more modern edge in her collection but I get that – that is just not her thing. I’m glad she stays true to her own style – it’s what makes it recognizable immediately as AG.
I have to say – I’ve been watching a few of the non-AG card shows today and am thorougly underwhelmed. I almost feel sorry for the vendors. The other kits don’t even compare to Anna’s – so I wonder if they are even selling.
Anyway, AG has become a Christmas card tradition at HSN. It apparently sells well and people love it, so you’re probably out of luck here. Your best bet it probably to buy a cricut and just go to town on your own cards from scratch. But not me – I love Anna’s cards and will probably buy every year.
I also agree with you. The cards are pretty but usually are the same. I like to add my own touches so they do look like my designs. I did howerver buy item # 443-536 just for the die cuts. Can use them on my own pop up cards created by me.
