When is best to take Glucosamine/chondroitin, and Omega 3's??
I ordered both of these, and I’m wondering when is best effectiveness, morning, bedtime? With or without food??
chickenlady, Andrew says he takes his supplements in the morning. I take mine with breakfast and lunch. For example, I will take one Omega3 with breakfast, and one more with lunch.
Each product has directions on the bottle. Some of them say “best taken with a complete meal”. But many of them don’t say that. Look on your product bottles, and you should find: “Suggested Use”. I have GERD, so I have better luck if I have something on my stomach before I take a supplement. I remember reading that it’s okay to divide up the dose of Glucosamine/chondroitin. You could take part of your dose in the morning, and the rest of it at noon time.
But really, it all depends on the individual person. My husband has a “cast-iron” stomach and takes all of his supplements at once, and by the handful. No way I could do that, lol! Just try and establish a routine that is comfortable for you, and convenient for you.
A word of caution, if you take any medications, try to wait at least an hour before or after taking them before taking supplements. I take my prescription med first thing in the morning, then take supplements about an hour later. Also, check with your doctor or pharmacist, to make sure a supplement won’t interfere with any prescriptions.
You’re very welcome chickenlady! 🙂 Also, be a bit wary of taking fiber supplements with your other supplements. Reason being, fiber loves to absorb everything. Which can be a good thing, but, you don’t want your vitamins being absorbed by a lot of fiber. It’s probably a minor issue, but our supplements are so outrageously expensive, we want to make sure we get the total benefit from them. I take my morning supplements with scrambled eggs and applesauce. I try and eat a lot of fiber at supper time, salads and such, when I’m not taking any supplements. But again, just try and do what feels best for you, something you feel comfortable with. 🙂
Hoping I feel some relief in my aching body parts
